Thank you for your prayers.
What a day.
We are so blessed
I praise the Lord for His protection, through the bad weather we had Tues. night.
We were at a resturant when the storm hit.
We heard the loud noise, and a strange whistling, large hail, strong wind, then the pressure that came into the room was unreal, (it made your ears pop).
It seemed as if the roof was going to pop off.
I immed jumped up, and quietly called on Jesus...(we were in the dark) and my son got up, and asked if I felt the pressure in my ears.
The waiters and the manager came to check on us, (we were the only customers).
One waiter came over to me, and whispered a prayer, "Oh God, Lord Jesus".
I assured him I was praying also.
A few minutes later, a man came in and told the manager that he just saw a tornado go over the resturant.
I do indeed give God the praise.
A few miles down the road, cars were overturned, and a trailer park was hit.
I have not heard an update lately, but earlier there was 3 confirmed deaths.
I an uncertain of the injured.
Later my son told me that he thought that was "it" for us, that he was sure we were going to die.
Please say a prayer for the families and friends of the victims.

We sure are praying for all the families! Thank the Lord the tornado didn't set down on top of you!

Wasn't sure why but I just had a weird feeling. Then a couple of months ago my boss told me that I would be switching postions and it would be a higher level with a little more pay. I was rejoicing and thanking God but I was nervous about who my new boss would be because they were hiring someone from the outside for the position I would be under. Then today they announced that they had decided to just pull a guy from another department to take the position. It's crazy but in December I had hardly ever spoken to this man before and I was thrown on a project with him for a month in a half and we hit it off great and I really enjoyed working for him and he praised me highly to my current boss about my work!! I truly believe that God allowed us to work together then so that now we would pair up and work well together from the very beginning!!!!! I am so relieved! I just pray that he is understanding on family matters and church issues because my family and my church come before my job and my current boss has no problems with that. But if God put me with him then I know everything will be fine.

Praise the Lord and yes, He did put you there and you don't need to worry!

Praise the Lord - that you were safe! I will be saying a prayer for all the victims of the tornados last night. We were supposed to get it and our tornado sirens even went off but all we got was just a little wind and rain with lots of thunder and lightening. I am so glad it bypassed us because the city's around us all got hit hard!! Our city is kinda down in a valley so we tend to miss most of the really bad weather.

We have not had a picture taken professionally in several years, and I just thought it was time to do it. We went to a park locally and met a photographer and she took some out of doors. She spent most of the time talking about how hard it was to begin dating again- she was newly divorced. She said she had recently tried Internet dating - talked with a guy on the phone for hours - decided to meet him for lunch and he looked like a mafia reject!!!!!! She said after the date she went home and deleted her profile on the site. She kept us entertained with the stories- so posing for pictures was not too painful. I am not one that likes to take pictures that much- The camera does not lie!!!! But I thought it would be nice to have a couple of updated pictures.
Today, I am cleaning house and then I have to clean the freezer out. It has gotten to the place where I am not sure what is in there! So it is time to take everything out and rearrange it. So my day will be busy!
I hope all is well with my Gabby friends. God is good and faithful! I think that is the blessing from God that I really am the most thankful for- That you can depend on God no matter what the situation and circumstance- He is FAITHFUL to his children. Bless you all-

LOL! I hate taking pictures. My face always look fat for some reason. LOL I don't know why!

Re: Gabby's
HMF- I am so glad you are safe! When we woke up and heard the news about the storms and where they were, my first thoughts were for my cyber friends. I said a little prayer of protection for all of them. I hope others check in and let us know they are safe.
SP- good to have you check in with us. We are always ready for a visit. I really enjoyed your memories on the other thread. Even though the names were not familiar to me, our memories are similar. God is truly good to us all.
I have got to go to Sam's today! I go once a month to stock up on supplies - so it is off to Sam's I go. Have a great day.

We were so blessed with 2 great services this weekend !
I am very thankful for a good pastor, and his wife is such a kind, loving person.
I am so touched by her....it seems they have been going through the fire, (before we started attending) and it seems she has been so hurt...but I can tell God is bringing comfort to her, yet I am so touched that she is afraid she will offend us in some way.
We are not hard to get along with, and are not easily offended, but I can tell she is just so afraid they will hurt us in some way. (kind of makes me sad for her)
They have been pastoring about 3 yrs.
The first year was in a store front, then they purchased a church, and have been there 2 years.
The attendance is approx 65 +.....
They were on my mind, I guess that's why I mentioned them.
The pastor was so kind to my husband, when he came in for 2wks from Iraq.
It seems that they just clicked.
Oh well...you can see my thoughts are with them this morning.
It is still 55 degrees here, and 1:40 am.
It feels like spring.
I hope to hear good things from everyone today.
Everyone, have a great and blessed Monday !
|
Send some of that warm weather my way will you please....its just wet and cold here, I am hoping for spring...but I know its a ways off yet....

We were able to find her an affordable apartment (almost unheard of in my area!), and best of all, its only 2 minutes from my house. The moving truck will be here tomorrow, and the real work will begin!
Tomorrow also happens to be my anniversary, which I don't think my husband realizes (he's been unemployed since last April and dates therefore have no meaning to him), and I don't think I will remind him. Is that mean? We don't have the money to go out to dinner or anything, and if I remind him, he will just feel bad about me spending our anniversary helping my mother unpack.
On the flipside if I don't remind him, then he will just feel bad later when he realizes that he forgot it...
|
OH my a delima for sure....you can celebrate without spending money...write him a letter....show him how much you care about him.....its a marker and its the other days that are more important....I am happy for you...and your mom....

I have not been out yet, but my sister went to work this morning, many of the roads were still closed, and the National Guard was still out.
The resturant (where we were, when this hit) is surrounded by buildings with damage.
She said the roofs were missing off of several motels in the area, and the subdivision behind them has gotten hit pretty hard.
I also received a call from a friend, and she said the roof came off of a local Apostolic Church, and that the pastors home (of the same church) was picked
up off the foundation, turned around, and landed back onto the foundation.
I am glad everyone is ok, and that it bypassed you all QE.
Lord Bless you all today!

HMF, where are you located? I live in SW Tennessee so I had a VERY long night and I am extremely tired today!
