I don't get how a Holy-Ghost filled person can sit through SNL and not feel any conviction.
Okay, go ahead and bash me.
Well, the thing is, Jason, if I'm watching a show and something comes on that is unacceptable to my conscience, I simply turn it off or watch something else.
The show I've most recently sworn off of is Oprah--and she's so "family-friendly." Right. LOL!!!! Her insidious agenda and indoctrination of the masses is way more offensive to me than SNL.

Re: SNL Steps Over the Line
I don't watch anything that I wouldn't watch with my granddaughters. I don't watch anything with language in it that I wouldn't want someone using in my house. I haven't been to a movie for 50 years other than a movie on E MAX about Lewis and Clark. I don't want to support Obama's friends.

That's probably a good stance to take.

They are raunchy sometimes. I didn't happen to see the episode in question...I usually watch various clips on Youtube. LOL!!!
Anywaze. Sorry if I picked a show some of you object to. Oddly enough, it's usually the musical guests I object to, and I end up flipping to a different program when the music comes on. Sometimes the skits are too tasteless to watch.
Don't fear for my soul, folks. I make good use of the remote control.
Regardless, that's not the point of the thread.
Then I bet that you are really sorry that this week you missed Kings of Leon, (The sons of an former UPC evangelist, for those of you who don't know)
I myself enjoyed the performance, and I also realized that the lead singer is quite attractive now that he has gotten himself a haircut.
As for the skit in question, I watched a little bit, and then skipped through it as it didn't interest me, and apparently passed the scandalous part.

They're all good looking boys. I can't say I enjoy listening to them, because I can't help but think of where they've come from and where they could be going. That's another topic, though.... Musically speaking, they're very talented. But they make me sad. (And not because they're no longer in the UPC.)

I didn't see it at all, and it was quickly removed from YouTube, so I guess I won't get the chance.

Palin "Joke"
"In Saturday Night Live’s second attempt to mock this year’s vice presidential race, a sketch lampooning The New York Times as out of touch has instead touched off a firestorm by casually throwing out a much more insidious inference — incest — between Todd Palin and his pregnant, teenage daughter, Bristol....
...Conservative bloggers are infuriated over the incest joke, most particularly because it plays off claims earlier this month that 17-year-old Bristol Palin is the mother of Trig Palin.
Bristol Palin is five months pregnant and therefore could not be Trig’s mother, John McCain’s campaign noted earlier this month in efforts to diffuse widespread and unfounded gossip that surrounded Trig’s maternity.
Still, left-wing conspirators dissatisfied with that response, have argued that Trig Palin, who was born with Down syndrome, a much more frequent occurrence in women over 40, could have been the outcome of incest, which also increases the odds of the disability.
Now, some bloggers are urging protests of the show be sent to producer Lorne Michaels. The video was not posted on the SNL Web site.
Editor’s Note: When this story was originally published at 12:07 pm ET, the video was available on YouTube. It has since been removed and a notice posted that NBC Universal has issued a copyright claim. Many other SNL videos remain on YouTube."
I found it funny! One thing we all need is a good laugh now and then...
Need to add. I viewed the clip on youtube with
Saturday Night Live - Sarah Palin & Hillary Clinton
I've not viewed one on kids, as I had pointed out to me by MRS. LPW, now that's just sick!
I saw a clip of the sketch re: Sarah's husband on CNN, I was disgusted. To even joke that someone is a pedophile taking advantage of thier own children is disgusting and beneath low.
Not suprised though.
We have a publically funded radio station (tv as well) CBC here, and the other day on a call in show a lady called in and lit into our current Prime Minister who happens to be a Conservative Christian. We are having an election very soon ourselves.
She said he was no different than George Bush and Sarah Palin...Christians.
That people like them should not be allowed to hold office... because they believe the world is going to end one day etc.
She basically said no Christian should be allowed to hold a position in politics.
This was on our publically funded station and I was also disgusted. If I were to call in and give my opinion on the homosexual or abortion agendas I would be called a biggot at best.
But this is the day we live in, and if a conservative "fundamental" Christian, someone who still believes God is God and the Word of God is true, tries to run for an office, they are going to be ridiculed on every hand and attacked from every side.

Good for you. I agree 100% abour SNL and half of what is on TV. Our pastor was saying next season there will be 16 open gays in TV shows. When the church taught against TV it was a clean entertainment. Not like today. The sitcoms are among the most corrupt. I've never enjoyed them since I Love Lucy and the Newly Weds.
This kind of thinking isn't popular you know.
Christianity today (including many who are under the Apostolic umbrella) feels they can get as close to the world as they want and it will never harm them or thier children.
