Hey, bro, you should start discussing eschatology and calm down.

Ted is not perfect, but of all the politicians I've known (and I've known a lot of them), he's among the most conscientious and real I've met. The country missed an opportunity here with an imperfect vessel to try and take a step back towards the righteous path, but it is what it is. And yes, there are things Cruz could've done differently, but when you're up against a zeitgeist as well as a long overdue providential spanking, there's only so much anyone can do. Let's face it, 14 months ago when he announced nobody thought he would get this far.

So it is a sad day for me personally and politically, but I don't regret any of this journey. Along the way I met more true patriots than I can remember, which reminded me there is always a remnant. Though this didn't end the way I wanted it to, and I saw so many things that disappointed me to the point of breaking me, this journey actually strengthened my faith. And I thank Team Cruz for that, and Ted for his friendship and courage of conviction.

And now, behold, America has been crying out to be spanked. Acting like a petulant brat who when threatened with punishment insists on throwing an even harder tantrum -- daring the parent to act.

And He shall, and is.

Therefore, this election cycle ended for me today. My involvement in the Republican Party ended for me today, too. I will not belong to something that has no interest in the things of God, and has sunk so low as to nominate a man of so little character as its standard-bearer. We will be switching our party affiliations tomorrow.

However, the war rages on. The harvest is plenty, but the workers are few. But I will be fighting in cultural and spiritual arenas where a harvest is possible. If others wish to water weeds so be it.

And I end this election satisfied that I did everything I could to stop what's about to happen next, so I have no regrets.

God is good, all the time.

All the time, God is good.

- Steve Deace -

Amen!

Cruz was not the perfect candidate, because such a person does not exist. Reagan was not the perfect president, but he was the right man in the right time. Cruz could have been that person, but maybe God's plan includes him in a later time (or maybe not, no one knows but God alone). Ultimately, God is still in control, no matter what.

Personally, I'm waiting until after Tuesday's voting, then I'll no longer be a Republican. I've been a registered Republican since I was eligible to vote 21 years ago, no more. I'm going to vote for Cruz (even though he suspended his campaign), then switch to independent. I'm done with the elephant party.

Changed my party preference on Friday. Tossed my voter ID card and am waiting for the new one to come in the mail.

I will never vote for a Democrat, but I'm done holding my nose to vote for Republicans who aren't truly conservative.

Ted Cruz holds on to delegates until Convention, tells Glenn Beck if path to the nomination changes he'll "respond accordingly".

Glad he hasn't endorsed Trump yet. I hope he continues to refuse to endorse Trump.

With the loss in Indiana and Cruz suspending his campaign, there is no path to victory. It would take a miracle for Trump to not reach 1237 at this point.

I wish it were not so, but not enough voters will vote for someone who has suspended his campaign. Cruz may get some early ballot numbers and #nevertrump support, but not enough to win another primary.

That said, it will be interesting to see the numbers voting now that it's only Trump. Will people stay home, or will he benefit from the other candidates dropping out?

Basically, Ted Cruz is holding on to his delegates in order to have some control over their slot's on the party platform and rules committee. They are not planning anything else.

Yes, it will be interesting to see the numbers voting for Trump tonight.

People are trying to play the Supreme Court nominee choice as a reason to vote for Donald. However, our federal courts are already a dumpster fire. This past weekend, Judge Roy Moore was suspended over his gay marriage stance. So, the SCOTUS argument is hogwash.

Not voting for Trump is not a vote for Hillary either. Voting for Trump is voting for Trump, hanging every outrageous slur, insult and classless act around our neck. That is just not going to happen for many of us who stand on principle.

I agree with Cruz keeping delegates and trying to influence the party platform, since Trump has signaled he wants to change it.

Had a friend tell me I'm ruining America by refusing to vote for Trump. I stopped posting on FB because of friends who have become Trumpsters, who became hysterical and began name-calling when I posted about Trump's hiring of the Democrat and George Soros fund worker/donor as campaign finance director.

One thing is for sure: this has been an ugly primary season.
