I would say to philjones and others that rant about not having two services giving "occasion to the flesh" that there is a reason God said we should rest on the Sabbeth.

I absolutely do not believe that after a great time worshipping God once on Sunday that I am somehow short changing God by then spending time with my wife or family and enjoying God's creation.

The old time Pentecost I grew up in definitely did not have "rest" on Sunday!! You rushed home from church to eat, take a short nap, then get up and get ready to do it all over again.
CC1, has this thought crossed your mind, after you leave an incredible worshipful morning service from CC, and hear an inspiring word from Pastor Scott....... "Now God what is it that you want to tell me tonight that you didn't tell me this morning".

I figure God can tell me whatever he wants to whenever he wants to!! You could run yourself ragged if you based going to church on a fear of missing something God wanted to tell you.

You could find churches with services at times other than yoru own and make church as close to a seven day a week thing as possible!

Christ Church does offer a Sunday night service. Lately it has been used as an opportunitiy for the younger ministers in the church who don't get a chance to preach in the main services to preach.

Last Sunday night there was a healing and deliverance service wtih that visiting Chinese Christian leader Pastor Yun.

Typically CC has used Sunday nights for things like these.

i guess I love going to church so much because of all the services i mssed in my 18 years as a backslider. Your suggestion for every night church is something that closely resembles my feelings about church. I enjoy the fellowship and the worship and the opportunity to minister to Him and others.

I know that is just the difference in folks and their particular circumstances and I certainly don't expect everyone to be as gung-ho as I am... especially if they haven't come from where I have been.

Well I've definately talked to God on some Sunday afternoons; and I feel I heard back from him a few times.

BTW, that was some outdoor encounters during the fall!!

Husband and Wives working 60+ hours a week.. at church usually Sundays.. and Wednesday Nights... and any other prayer night or task night during the week...

I think Sunday Evening is a great time for Family in my opinion...

I like One Service on Sunday.. The Pastor is not worried about preaching TWO sermons... the people don't get wore out...

I've talked with some local pastors that would love to go to one service on Sunday but are forced by the More traditional saints to two... but are looking to go to one...

mankind Aways puts his Time where his Passion is. If it's soul winning then he will not be able to get enough home bible studies. If it's car racing, boating, sports, whaever, then they will have a drive or a desire to be there as much as they can. I know people who are addicted to antiques and just about every weekend off they go to look at antiques. sure is not my thing but it's their passion.
I believe when a true revival comes, it will include a renewed passion for the the things of God. out of 168 hours a week, our church has church services 5-6 hours of that week. that's not too much. everything else in the course of the week is mostly optional
