The Carew Tower and the Ohio River and Main Street are not playing against the Sears Tower, Lake Michigan, and Maxwell Street but people are playing against people. YHWH was not talking in Ezekiel 16 about the buildings, streets and rocks but about the people. So we agree there.
However, YHWH said that He had decked out His child bride in nose rings, clothing, etc. Yes, there may have been spiritual meanings for each of those items, but if the nose rings and clothing were sinful or wrong He would not have used them in a pictorial way. He was actually saying that literal nose rings and clothing were acceptable adornment for His people and He was using them in a figurative way. He used adultlery/fornication/whoredom in a figurative way to depict their sin because adultery/fornication/whoredom are sinful literally also.

Now we're getting somewhere. He also used jewelry in a whorish context [ Jer. 4:30] to depict their adulterous ways. Will you be consistent & apply the same hermeneutic to this verse as you do Ezek. 16?
So, based upon your interpretation of Ezek. 16, would you have a problem w/ your Pastor wearing a nose-ring, & "skirt," then "covering" the congregation in it Sun. morning? Get honest..............

All you're doing is applying the logical fallacy, "Ad Hominem Attack"...not giving me the actual text of Scripture. I'm not interested in your attacks, only the Bible.

The RSV & NKJV derive from the MT [Received Text], not the CT [Alexandrian Text], & they both translate the verse w/ "fine apparel". Try again!
Do you folks know what "not" means? Sheesh!

read the NKJV one again. It says don't let your adorning be merely outward....

I haven't worn a robe either (in public) but a few hundred/thousand years ago, it would have been proper.

I have no problems with pastors wearing earrings.
I went to a church from 1992 until 2006 where at least two of the male pastors had an earring.
I do not go to that church any more but a while back one of the lady pastors told about conducting a funeral for someone and later a letter was written to the senior pastor by someone who was at the funeral. The person did not like it that the lady pastor had spiked hair and a nose piercing. The person righteously asked, "Is that the image of your church you want to present?" The senior pastor wrote back and said, "Yes, that is the image we as a church wish to present" and went on to state that he had recently purchased a nose piercing ornament" for one of his daughters for her birthday.
Women do not have to have on jewelry and makeup to commit adultery. There have been plenty of our ladies wearing long dresses, wearing no make up or jewelry and having long hair who have sweat the sheets with Apostolic preachers.

It is real hard to comprehend that fact that you can't seem to be words and phrases in context.
How silly to cut a verse down like that to make it say something it doesn't.
I guess we can say along those lines of "interpretation" that God does not hear sinners prayers. Its in the Bible what is so hard to understand?

"Pastors" w/ earrings, "lady pastors," spiked hair, nose rings,......this is not even worthy of rebuttal it's soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo far from Biblical holiness principles.
I'm finished w/ this......going on to honest folks................
