Ahhhhhhh. OK, gotcha. I would say you are taking a safe route with the discussion, but I think Brother H is getting more and more confrontational with his comments. He keeps repeating that we don't believe in holiness, as if his repeating it will somehow make his statements true. Those kinds of tactics generally have a tendency to escalate matters. It's kind of like when I get into these abortion discussions and people insist on saying I am pro-abortion, even though I repeatedly tell them I'm not. It's as if people want to tell you what it is you believe, even though you've already told them what it is you believe.

Nope... no hidden motive or agenda here. My name (James) comes from Jacob, which means deceiver or supplanter, but I have no hidden agenda or device here. Just trying to live for the Lord and win souls for him.

The only goal that I would have in this conversation would be to get people to read their Bibles and let their own Holy Ghost guide them into an understanding of the work of the cross - not just what an organizational manual or a group of pastors says they need to do.

I respect Sassy for his/her stand. It's just not the same stand that I believe is necessary for me. BTW... I received salvation according to Acts 2.38 over 24 years ago. I lived the standards life for all but the last two years, when the Lord showed me that my boasting was in things that had nothing to do with Him. He took me deeper into His word. I've not gone off any deep ends, but I have lightened up a lot and stopped being so judgmental.

God bless!

Its becoming increasingly more difficult honestly. LOL!!! Oh well, I am not here to fight. Thanks for your encouragement. I honestly am not trying to be condescending, like some have said, I am just really bothered. Thats all. I really care about people and want to see them in Heaven. I guess my post was taken completely wrong. Well............thats what voicing my thoughts gets me. I should have seen this all coming.......

You definitely need to be ready to defend your beliefs around here. That much is very true for all of us. I was shocked at the diversity of beliefs among apostolics, when I first started posted on these forums. Now, pretty much nothing surprises me anymore.

They don't want it....our type of holiness...some get very offended if they feel like it is being pushed on them.

I believe it with all my heart...that is why I don't throw scriptures out to defend myself....I walk by faith. I have deep rooted convictions in my heart that God gave me.

Just keep standing Hspk...because if you don't stand for something...you will fall for anything. Just so you know that they're are UC on here!

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

If you don't have Scripture for those beliefs you might want to consider my friend Joseph Smith he believed some things too.
