Right, they can vote abstain. This was done with McCain. Hence, the person that was supposed to get the vote doesn't get it.

I found out that in Texas we are not required to register under any party affiliation. So, we are not actually "registered" as a Republican. When we vote, they stamp our card in order to stop us from voting twice. So, we can vote for any party at any time, we just can't vote twice. We are free in Texas - and we are rebels!!!! I wonder if MP would let me borrow his motorcycle? I want to ride with the rebel flag waving behind me.

Think about how the RNC and the MSM (Faux News included) set the tone and our thinking and then sit back and applaud how they drove us to the polls with their pre-selected candidate. After the Scott Walker vote and Bloomberg's soda law, Obama, etc., the American people are ready for a fight.

If Paul could stop Mitt, it would be a great day for America. So, we push the most relevant information along the pike to open people's eyes to the possibilities before us.

This is what I hear over and over again - "I would vote for Newt in a heartbeat, but he can't beat Obama." Who told us that? - the RNC and the media. Newt had the ability and bravery to define a larger, better future. There is no evidence that Newt had anything but America's best interest at heart in both office and in his private life. They didn't want that (as evidenced by how they got rid of Michael Steele - who wanted to stop the corruption) and I won't support them in their plans for America.

And this is a very bold statement, but if I go along with them, I then become part of the problem. I would feel very guilty about that, personally. It would be worse to vote for the destruction of conservatism as a Republican than to allow a Democrat to win. Let me come back and add that we always have a chance to come back and win as a Conservative party, but we don't stand a chance as a progressive party against the Democrats.

I would like to add that people need to research who owns the media. They will find that most all of the media is in the hands of just a few...Soros, Murdock etc. They are the ones who decide what we get to see and hear. I watched as Ron Paul was basically ignored, then they twisted his words to make him look like a nut. O'Rielly asked him questions and when Paul would try to answer, he would cut in and not allow RP to answer or to explain his point of view or how he would fund his vision for America.

Then you can take a look at what these few media moguls who basically own all the media, stand for like what kind of morals and values do they have towards life and our country. I challenge some of you to look into it...you will have a big surprise at these people's world view and what they would like to see America devolve into.

It's called brainwashing the people. The elite consider the american people to be stupid sheep and to be rounded up and move the herd into the direction they want people to have.

Read David Rockefeller's autobiography. People will find some very surprising quotes contained therein.

I have to agree. We are given free choice, a conscience, and discernment by the Holy Ghost and He expects us to be true to use those gifts He has given to us.

Since when did our society devolve into every four years we have to vote for someone only to use that to be a vote against the other candidate? I've heard that same statement for decades...that we must vote for the lesser of two evils. Why do we have to vote for any evil? Do not people see how utterly miserable this is?

Our election process is supposed to be a vote FOR the person we feel will do the best job...not voting against the one we dislike. That is just falling into the plan and policy the elite decided for us to do.

Something is really messed up here.

Re: The Real Delegate Count - it's not over

There was a lovely woman named Joan Veon who spent a vast amount of money going to world meetings and reporting to us what she heard in those meetings. She was a journalist who wrote several books and articles about the movers and shakers of the world and how they lead the masses (sheep) into the direction they want us to move.
Here is her website: http://www.womensgroup.org/
You will find a wealth of information here. Unfortunately, this lovely Christian Lady died from breast cancer a couple years ago. Her family is gracious enough to keep her website and her work going for others to read about her life's work.

Also, if one is interested in how our economics got to be in such the mess they are in, one could go to Barns & Noble and buy the book called the "Shock Doctrine" by Naomi Kline. The book itself was shocking to me, but she is very thorough and gives, names dates and traveled to nations to find out first hand what was going on while we were all sleeping. One more book one can buy at Barnes & Noble is called "Confessions of an Economic Hitman".

People want to call other people conspiracy nuts when there are vast amounts of information out there about what is going on.

Webster Tarpley is another good historian and current events journalist as well as Jerome Corsi.

The MSM only wants to take people's attention off what is currently happening with a lot of nonsense junk journalism...and many of us fall for it everyday.

Exactly and Clear Channel Communications, Inc., owned by Bain Capital, Fox News being their primary news channel. Does that speak Romney? LOL!

Yes, brainwashing. You can sit here watching it happen and wonder why no one is paying attention. If it wasn't so sad, it would be hysterically funny.

I agree. I kept wondering what was making me feel uncomfortable about Romney. When I studied the basic tenets of Mormonism, I knew what it was. I can't put my vote to the leader of our country who believes what he believes. It is outside of mainstream Christianity. The Founding Fathers attested to the awesome wonder of God giving us this land. We have a responsibility to be true and not engage and get sucked into political correctness. How strange to teach that God was created, like a man, and because he was righteous, became God. Crazy.

Well, I don't mind term limits. I wish we had them for the Supreme Court. And I think that when you are in competition for another's job, it probably will end up a vote "against" the other candidate. But, I think they should be fined for verifiable lies or something to that extent.

I hadn't heard of her. Sounds interesting. I'll check out the link.

Have you ever read this awesome book - The Spin Sisters, How the women of the media sell unhappiness and liberalism to the women of America, Myrna Blyth. It is excellent! She was previously editor of Ladies Home Journal and understood how it all worked. Very bold to write that book!

Sound like good books. I like Thomas Sowell's books on economics. I think that every Congressman/woman, President, VP, etc. should have a degree in economics. I remember John McCain and others talking about how they didn't know enough about economics. I'm thinking, why not? That should be a prerequisite. We wouldn't need to Audit the Fed if officials knew what they were doing in the financial world.

Thought you might find this article interesting, Esther.
Quote:

The History Behind Brokered Conventions

Brokered conventions occur when a party enters its national convention with no candidate having enough pledged delegates to secure the nomination, and then fails to nominate one on its first ballot. As voting continues, some delegates, depending on their state rules, are allowed to switch their votes, setting off rounds of bargaining until one of the candidates -- or even someone entirely new -- is chosen.

Conservative commentator Peggy Noonan agreed, suggesting a better term might be contested convention.

Whatever the terminology, ABC's John Barron envisioned what such a convention would look like in the digital age, writing, "A modern brokered convention is probably going to be smoke-free and involve a lot of hushed phone calls and texting on BlackBerrys, but the very uncertainty of it would be wonderful theatre (and scare the bejeezus out of the party establishment)."

Re: The Real Delegate Count - it's not over

This thread is the perfect example of when people are willing to throw away good enough in order to dream about "perfect".

Romney is not perfect by any means. I didn't like him in 08 or now really, but he is better than Obama. All this whiny "we didn't get our guy" nonsense put out by bitter Bettys that attempts to paint Romney as Obama's twin are ignorant. He pushed Romneycare because his STATE wanted it. The NATION doesn't. He Governeed a liberal state. There was no changing that, so he signed some very liberal policies.

You people who like Paul have lost your ever loving minds. Yes, lets elect the senile old gynecologist who wants to legalize pot and heroin. Great idea! The guy who thinks it would be great if we just told Israel, "You're on your own".

Beating Obama and his clearly socialist ideology should be the number one thing on any non-liberals aganda. Instead, we get people bickering because their guy isn't the one who got the nomination. Boo-Hoo...my guy didn't win so I'll hope for a disaster that lets Obama win re-election. Yeah, great strategy there.

Who cares if the country is crippled as long as you get your way right? Selfish much?
