No...safe route with the discussion...

There's a fine line of distinction there, I know. It's funny how the mind works and how tradition feeds what we think and believe. I respect Sassy for his/her (?) beliefs and her stand. I wonder if he/she can say the same for us.
I have been there for 25 years....
I can say that I respect you for who you are... I really do. I am not pushing my belief on anyone. THis is for me.

Point well taken, Sassy. And I apologize if I've given you a sour taste. Please forgive me. It appears that I have judged you - and I am sorry. I am empassioned about my life as a Christian and often forget that my expressions and vocal inflections do not come across at all on a text forum. I respect your view and enjoy debate.

The point is, though, that while HolinessPK did start a discussion, he also did say many things that were condescending and judgmental. If you re-read some of his postings, and try to be objective (momentarily set aside that part of you that agrees with his views), you'll see that.

God bless!

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Sassy,

Don't take the bait...they are trying to get you to lose control so they can say, "See there...yada yada yada." You post with graciousness and kindness, just let them yelp."

Blessings,
Rhoni

Thank you...

THe sour taste is not with this discussion....it is in general with these hot topics.

I agree...but his approach is different as any.....this is perfect place to learn to say our mind or make a point eloquently. (Nicely, with a Christian attitude)

I have to say that there are some veterans on here that need to set a better example. THey point flaws in others....but they are allowed to use any delivery they want. I guess I don't get it....
