Aside from that, there feels like solid strength with the Cruz campaign that the media knows but ignores.
The way I see it - Cruz stays calm, he stays focused, he stays on the issues and he speaks to everyone at his town halls - answers the hard questions -making the stipulation that you have to dialogue intelligently, no yelling or interrupting.
I also notice that when he is interviewed, the journalists listen to him and you can feel an underlying respect. That's just something that I sense.
For me as a supporter, I am not worried he will have a bad moment when a debate comes up or when I know he will be interviewed. He's solid. And I know that any negative thing we are hit with, there is solid truth to back him up. All the other stuff is baseless smoke and baseless distraction.
The average American, IMO, finds appeal in that.
Look at how Cruz engages with this angry farmer on the ethanol subsidy issue. The man is angry, against Cruz, and at the end he says he hopes he gets the farmer's votes. It's solid. (video embed)
