Well that makes me feel a lot better because I lived in Houston for 20 years and I don't remember ever hearing of a Bro. Fogarty.

Re: UPC Pastor Convicted of Slander in Pulpit!
The only question I have, is "does the lawyer have to get permission to discuss a former client's case?"

Does this now redine the UPCI's definition of fornication and/or reason for divorce to mean the wearing of immodest clothing?

Dan, would you give me the reference where "spiritual fornication" was brought out as evidence in court, please? I think one of the sites mentioned that he tried to turn it to spiritual fornication in court, but I can't find it and can't imagine a news source saying anything about "spiritual fornication". The only place I can find a reference to "spiritual fornication" is on this site. Thanks.

How can a court of law prove "spiritual fornication"? Only God could possibly know if someone is spiritually fornicating.
Is "irreconcilable differences" a biblical cause for divorce?

This quote from the article is interesting:
Are the days of pastors calling out individual members of the congregation for sin over? I hope so! It's one thing to preach against sin, but it's another when you name names and can possibly ruin the reputation of someone by your public gossip in front of peers.
|
I hope those days are gone.
I also hope all involved find forgiveness in their hearts for each other and are not consumed with bitterness and such. Our eternal destination is far too important to allow stumbling blocks like this to steer us off course.

Yes, I am going on what Kennedy stated in the article you linked.
He said the pastor tried to twist it to some kind of "spiritual" fornication.
Isn't fornication a work of the flesh?
While "spiritual" or figurative fornication - IDOLATRY- according to the Word?
Angela, being the former pastor's daughter adds a whole new dynamic to this, imo.
For the record, I don't believe Lois is lying. She had done an excellent job pointing out the FACTS to this story. Only pointed to it as a variable in the logic proofs I posed.
All things being true this becomes a serious doctrinal issue also.
