Then you didn't start with verse 13, whcih states "I would not have you to be ignorant brethren, concerning them which are asleep in Christ". The doctrine had crept into the church which discounted the resurrection, and it is this doctrine which Paul addresses.

The identification of who is saved is clear: Acts 2:21 (The prophecy of Joel)

They did, in Acts 2:37 and then they asked, what shall we do now? Peter then gave them their next instructions for starting their life-long relationship with Jesus and the brethren, and the instructions did not stop there!

Romans 10:9
I think it will be an interesting conversation in heaven. The so called "three-steppers" are going to find out it was much easier to get in then they tried to make it and many so called "one-steppers" are going to find out that it took more than repeating a prayer to get in.

I can agree with this statement. I am probably considered a 3-stepper, but I understand grace.

Just because it doesn't specifically state "They spoke in tongues and received the Holy Ghost" doesn't mean it didn't happen.

In Acts 16, it doesn't say "they repented" or "HOW" they were baptized (In Jesus name vs. Titles) but by referencing various scriptures around this verse, we know they must have repented of their sins, and they were baptized in the Lord's name, even though chapter 16 doesn't specific state that.
