right up to where you said the word "Barbie", I at least recognize the argument as one that is honest... even if I disagree with you and would debate it. But that barbie comment just kind of nullifies the comment.

Well said. People seem to not realize that once they resort to name-calling, they weaken their own argument.

Sarah Palin has had an impressive politcal career, even at the relatively young age of 44. The woman is a former mayor, and now governor whose approval ratings are among the highest of any governor in the US. But liberals feel the need to minimize as being just a "beauty queen" or "pretty face", with dismissive names like "Barbie", etc. I find this extremely sexist.

That need liberals seem to have is as old as dirt. they have been doing it a very long time.

Name me a VP candidate by the republicans that they have not tried to distroy?

TR, we both know that there has been plenty of juvenile name-calling to go around from both sides. I could fill a notebook just with every variation of Barack Obama's name that I've read here. I do agree that name-calling weakens arguments, I just believe that it weakens arguments on both sides.

DT, I agree with this statement. I would just substitute "libs" for "people". I have seen a lot of this from plenty of people on both sides.

The Barbie comment makes the point. lol McCain chose someone to generate a celebrity factor...Obama chose a seasoned leader and politician who can seriously lead in the event of his demise.

Good grief.

Politically, I dont agree with you on much, Antipas; but I dont believe you're clueless by any means.

I know you must be able to see how referring to a sitting Governor [who happens to be an attractive female] as "Barbie" is considered sexist and insulting by many, if not most, women.... and many men too.
