Exactly which code is that?

Well I kind of believe the old testament holiness is the same as New testament.

Oh not really, Jesus expanded it to require much more than the old covenant.

Well I forgot God views change with the fads.

Sorry I'm throwing out the old testament it is not longer relevant for today.

Now where does the new testament say;

Cigarettes are a no no

I cant go to strip clubs

What happens in Vegas ....

Marijuana is bad

I cant play with my Ouija board

My palm reader is bad

I cant play Grand Theft Auto

Rap music is wrong

I shouldn't listen to secular music

The list goes on and on and on

What was the intent of God by putting these prohibitions for these verses?

Re: Tattoos-What do ya think?

I think we are desensitized to the world nowadays. There has been so much exposure that we think it is the norm.

Kinda seems like the exposure to the occult and immoral sexuality in movies. Like Charmed, Blade, Brokeback mountain, The series on tattoos. Never watched but saw some commercials but know a lot of young people that don't use discernment. (nor some adults) I heard newly baptized youth inviting to watch their favorite show.

Did some sermons on the effect that these have on our society.

Then we get the souls that have been exposed to all kinds of perversion. Hard to get a renewing of the mind when we are still sowing to the flesh. Carnally Minded? Pretty cool how those two girls are kissing. Make it seem sort of trendy to see two guys holding hands. Children are forced to hear books read like "I have two mommys". No wonder we have so many problems to deal with.

I went to the lyrics of worldly songs to preach about them. I was stunned at what is being heard.

Can't post the things I deal with in counseling. The results of desensitized minds.

Well enough said you know where I stand.

God Bless

Re: Tattoos-What do ya think?

I feel God has moral laws that never change...the 10 commandments were moral laws...and please don´t jump on the Sabbeth on this thread...however it is wrong to lie with a beast as a man or wife....it is wrong for the same sex to be as man and wife...I think a little common sense helps us in most of things we discuss.
In the OT they fought wars and killed people all the time...Only one nation was God´s people...I am so glad that changed...for by one blood he made a way for all people to come to Him.

I agree 100%. Things that were preached against in the previous generations are not exactly wrong. However it seemed to be wrong but it was against the norm. I have found through all my years in the OTP movement that often things are preached against simply because people don't know much about things. People preach against tv, movies and all sorts of things that they don't know about well enough to act like a expert. Trinity is preached against more than anything and most OTP preachers don't have a real concept of the Trinity. If they did they would preach the same way. Tattoos are the same I think. It was wrong years ago cause only people in jail had them. Now many professionals have them.

Re: Tattoos-What do ya think?

Well my opinion is, if God wanted me to have tatoos he would have done it Himself.

My point being is if you read that entire chapter it gives directives on certain things. Like if you sleep with another mans women you MUST bring a ram and sacrifice it as you walk in the front door. Also says don't eat meat unless it has been drained of ALL blood (stay away from that Ribeye). It also says not to trim your beards and to make sure all the containers for dry goods and liquids are accurate. So to pull one verse out and say....bingo can't tattoo oneself you must also take ALL of these. It is the OT it was under the law. Context is key and just pulling one verse out to try and prove the point is an inaccurate use of scripture.

Geesh God wants you Holy why not make ya that way so there is not a chance one will choose differently. God gives us the ability to do and obtain things. He wants us to have wealth and be stable with a good income and good health. Why not make us that way to begin with so we don't have to work at it? Your post is well goofy. I respect most all of what you say however this is one step too far beyond the edge of the cliff.
