Would Jesus transgress the law? He didn't come to abolish it but fulfill it. This is a letter/spirit thing.

It's a dangerous place to live, where one is constantly seeking loopholes and wanting to know what counter-culture things one may indulge their flesh in and still "get away with" being saved.

Re: Tattoos-What do ya think?

I think it has a lot to do with the generation you're a part of. To me, a tattoo is just a WEIRD thing, but to young people, it's the norm. They do not consider it rebellious or strange, but just something that they think identifies them with a symbol. I'm just thankful that my kids didn't go out and get something ugly or demonic looking, but something that identified them with the Body of Christ.

I've got to admit, when I see a person covered with tattoos, my first thoughts are never, 'I'll bet she's a wonderful Sunday school teacher,' or 'He's probably a licensed professional.' This may be perhaps due to my age and environment, but now that so many people are getting tattoos, it's another case of somebody trying to be special - just like everybody else. It's no longer quite the daring thing to do.

I think it is very safe to say that it displeases God, and I would recommend that it would be a good measure of Holy Ghost in a person to see how they make this decision after reading this verse and praying.

Who is it, exactly, that you are living to please? Is your life your own?

(spoken to 'you' generically.)
I'm sure you could be right about that. My opinion is that as society is taking a decline, we need to take a higher road in all things.

We need to offer people a better quality of life. That's what I wanted when God pulled me out of the world.

Re: Tattoos-What do ya think?

Why are we still applying OT holiness code to contemporary living? Am I the only one with a hermeneutics book?

It has not been discussed much here from what I have seen. What does each of you think about tattoos? Sinful or not? Would you get one? If so what would you get? Do you have one? If so what is it? All those types of things.

I am not against them though I think that alot of people go too far with them. I would love to get a large cross on my back or arm. I will get something to signify my daughter and maybe get my lastname on me at some point. I think it would be cool to have sleeve tattoos, think Todd Bentley. But that ain't me. Not sure I could pull it off. The Bible says we are the temple of the HG. Even temples need to have paint on them, right? Hey depending on what version of the Bible one uses it say that are names are written in his hands and from what those has researched it have said the actual word used there is the word used to mean tattoo. That are names are tattooed in His hands. Kinda cool.

So what do you all think?

Here is a site you can get slip on sleeve tattoos...kinda neat
