This incident is proof that being highly educated (Masters degree in business) does not mean you have common sense!

Re: Emergency Prayer Request - Urgent
I'm glad that he's okay. Memphis has definitely gotten really bad in the last 20 years. 20 years ago it didn't bother me to go anywhere in Memphis. Now, I avoid going at all if at all possible.
I was in Memphis for a doctors appointment with Michael a few days ago. When I called to schedule his appointment I told them to make it a morning appointment so that I could possibly be out of Memphis before rush hour traffic, and miles away from Memphis before dark. If I could find another pediatric specialist anywhere else that was as good as this doctor, I'd go there. LeBonheur is the best...and my only option to get my son to this doctor is to go to Memphis.

I'm not sure it is a lack of common sense-- every one should be able to feel safe in their own country, on public property. This kind of violence and ignorance angers me!

You should read this story, talk about sick. There are just some things I can't wrap my brain around.

Tina, have you asked to see if your doc comes to Jackson? I know when Tabo used to have to go regularly, alot of the doctors came to Jxn once a month.

I understand totally. We had a man from a company I used to work for (total government contracting co.) and one of our "Fellows" in our company... this man had the brains that would blow you away and the degrees to show it too! Well we had sent him to DC on a company trip... he got mugged and everything else. When we asked him what he was doing... he was just walking around sight seeing... in the absolute worst part of town. He had a month and he had already gone to all the tourist areas... so he would pick a neighborhood and go each night and walk around NOT SMART!!!!!
AFTER he got out of the hospital we had to fly him back 2 weeks early!

I'm sure he's thankful for your prayers and compassion, Mark.

Re: Emergency Prayer Request - Urgent
But then again too it does happen anywhere unfortunately. We live in one of the quieter suburbs of Dallas... and yet the incident with the young man from our church last week. We are still just all blown away... 2 men minding their own .... worked late and left work and got shot in cold blood... 2 little babies and a wife at home This world is turning insane!
