Dan and I are having a very difficult day.
Last night we got word that out church Bass player was in Baton Rouge, La and was lost down town.
As he was on the phone with his wife trying to figure out where he was....a man walked up to the car and shot him point blank in the abdomen.
When Dan went to bed last night all we knew was that he was in surgery.
This morning Dan got a phone call letting him know that Brent had died from the gunshot and the family wanted our services.
He and Dan were friends, Dan played the drums and Brent the bass.
Brent was 38 and leaves behind a wife (Chandlers Sunday School Teacher), and two sons 12 and 9.
Please remember the Cole Family in prayer and also for Dan. He is a very passionate about helping folks on the level of funeral service, but this one hits very close to home.
Wow Dan and Tiff, We will sure be praying. I know our words cannot make your loss any less but please know our prayers are with you and your family and Brents family also! This is very tragic and I know a huge loss for the church as well... Our prayers again go up now!
Give your comfort and grace to this family. I can't imagine, but I know a friend I grew up with who can relate...Gail George. Lord, give special blessings to this wife and children and let them know you care and others hurt with them.

This is so very tragic and sad. This sounds like such a senseless act of random violence. I will be praying for your family, the victim's family and your church family. I know there are no words that can mean much now, but I will pray for you.
Prayer was requested for this family in church this morning. There was nothing in the newspaper this morning. It was my understanding that Brent was coming to BR to play for the BR church. I am so sorry for this family. What a senseless tragedy.
