Got this info from another group


I just read about this in another group.
If you have a photobucket album (and who doesn't) go check your settings.
Even if your albums are set to private you must unclick the "link back to album" setting on the album settings page otherwise anyone can get into your album by clicking on a tag you have posted.
You will know how many hits you have had there too.
I'd had over a thousand this month and I thought my album was private.
Ok so go to "account options" at the top right of the page you'll see there how many hits you have had...go to "edit my album settings" and uncheck the "image link back to album" box then click save.
How many hits have you had???

Showed I had 1910 hits ! WOW!
I've changed the setting!

Thank you. I just changed mine to private recently because I didn't know people could access your account. I didn't realize you needed to change the other option also.

Don't feel bad. Mine only had 50. People must figure that if you're set to private, you must have something to hide. LOL

Well I guess I wanted somethings private or for the viewing of those I chose to share them with--what a fool I was!

I was still showing hits to my account so was curious. Here is reply from PB concerning hits. just in case others may be wondering also.

Dear

Monthly hits are coming from images posted outside your account. Any image you
post to MySpace a blog spot etc, will count as a hit on your album as you have
made those images viewable to the public. Also please note any of the images
you posted are copyable by others and they may be hotlinking them elsewhere
causing more hits.

LOL. People are strange characters, doncha think, Jeanie? If you open up yourself to them and bare it all, they don't even want to look. But if you want to keep some stuff private, even when it's nothing bad at all, they flock to it to try to get to see it. As if they're gonna find out some dirt or something. The appeal of the unknown. Strange! Just strange.
