I told her "Hold up sister, you mean to tell me that those girls are up there on the platform, worshiping God? And you are sitting in the audience criticizing them? If God were to come right now, who do you think would be right before him?"

This is the reality that the emphasis on corporate legalism produces. It is denied to me many times but it is the reality I have experienced and seen in my almost 49 years of being in or around old time Oneness Pentecost.

No matter how many times it is said that the standards are not considered "salvational" they are. Ones standing with God is judged by the adherence to the standards believed and taught to the one doing the judging.

Right. But we have to remember that this happens in all denominations -- it's not just a Oneness Pentecost issue.

Clothing that we try and get out new converts out of?So what would YOU suggest I tell our young ladies?

That clothing isn't an issue and God really doesn't care how you dress?
Go ahead and ............

Honestly, I want what your reply as to how you would respond?
How long does a 'new convert' have to "get out of that clothing" under your teaching?

BTW....thanks for the $1.

ROFL!!!!! I can just see the preacher "Young lady get out of those clothes RIGHT NOW!!!"

Kind of like that old joke about the elderly preacher telling the women to take off their "thongs" and bring them to the altar. (he was talking about shoes).

Only minor religous sects that I can think of. I have never had a Baptist look at me and think I was going to hell because I had on a short sleeve shirt. There may be some baptists like that somewhere but they are well hidden.

The vast majority of Christendom is not transfixed on corporate legalism like OTP's are.

This would certainly not characterize the UPC either.

Not because of a short sleeved shirt - true. But they have their own standards and they draw lines too. That's not isolated in OP ranks. That was my point.

But I get yours and I agree.

The dopes with that attitude shown in that post... are the reason so many churches lose so many people! God will fix it if we dont try and do His job for him! If it needs fixin there aint no better mr fix it than the Man who made it! If some people would stop playing god and let God do his own job without the help of them... We would see a lot more souls saved and guess what... they wouldnt all look like a bunch of Jezzies.. or sound like the above person either... They would be God loving.. God fearing... saints!!!! I absolutely HATE that attitude! Yep... HATE it...
