I pastor and live 40 miles from the district camp grounds, BUT my kids go to an ind. youth camp 6 hours away. For the last two years we have gone to the Camp Meeting in Little Rock and not gone to the district one.

I have a couple of neighbors (UPC) who do the same thing.

This I don't really get. If these are pastors who have control over their licensing... Why bother keeping credentials w/ the UPC?

I mean, we've all heard it...some even have said many members of the 49 have done it...the bashing of HQ and District-level UPCI leadership as a whole...the mistrust. I really don't understand why it is worth it to remain a member of the UPCI in that case.

That way you'd still have a life insurance policy to cover you if you get run over on the 6 hour drive to camp meeting.

Couldn't you just stop paying the dues and put all the same money toward a life-insurance policy? You'd probably get a little bit bigger one for the same amount of $$ in that case.

You definitely have a point there. So I guess the other benefit would be the special decal for your car window so you could park in clergy spots at hospitals?
