In the 16+ years KP was my pastor we had numerous trinitarians in the pulpit but they knew they were in a Jesus name church and NEVER taught or preached the trinity.

There are plenty of things besides the godhead that Oneness folks and trinitarian folks have in common. Believe it or not the Bible has a few subjects other than baptism in Jesus name.

I believe KP's philosophy was that you have to befriend folks to reach them. He has done so for over 30 years without changing his doctrine.

Because he does not demonize trinitarians and say they worship "another god" and nonsense like that does not mean he is not a strong proponent of Acts 2:38.

Does anyone know of any reported conversion of Trinitarian preachers, utilizing this strategy over the last 30 years?

CC1, is it possible that the natural extenition of KPs Philosophy is that his son's doctrine has become something very different from his fathers?

I don't know of any but I think it certainly has made the atmosphere better between the two views. There is not near as much animosity these days between Oneness and Trinitarians overall. There still is in some quarters but I mean in general.

I think celebrating the beliefs we have in common is a good thing and opens the door to people considering things that before they would not.

It does fly in the face of the old Oneness strategy of demonizing trinitarians though.
