Thad has removed himself from our company, so perhaps this new discussion may bring him back.
Thanks for the clarification.

Hazelwood caring about Canada seems like a bit of a stretch.

Thad's welcome in the Canadian coliseum anytime, as long as he can take a hit, throw an elbow, and drop the gloves from time to time.

Back to the original start to this thread, I think I have the whole story now on the UPCoC.

There was a letter and a survey sent out to the entire Canadian ministerial constituency. That letter and survey was signed by three different men from different parts of the country but it was unquestionably the brainchild and project of a certain well known former Canadian presbyter who resides on the west coast. The other two names associated with it are basically just window dressing, PVR was the driving force behind it.

My details on the survey are a little sketchy so some of you who have been a little quiet on this one (3E and DJ come to mind) could help out here a little. As I understand it the survey was about evangelism but within it was a question or series of questions that asked about Canada going it alone. Those who got the survey could post those questions for us for clarity sake.

Anyways, this idea went over like a ham sandwich at Jewish wedding or to keep my analogies Canadian like a Maple leaf jersey at the Bell centre. The author was hauled in front of the Canadian district superintendants at Canada conference, rebuked and told he was out of order and causing dissention, yada yada yada. They slapped him on the wrist and sent him packing, end of story. No independent Canada. You won't be sending your annual dues to 321 Carnarvan St. Hazelwood still has a death grip on Flin Flon and all other parts north of the 49th parallel.

Now my source, who is very close to the family, tells me that PVR has taken this very very badly. It really hurt him and he is astounded at the response and reaction this has generated and feels betrayed by his Canadian bretheren.

If anyone has any more info, step up to the plate but I'm pretty confident that my story is pretty close the way it actually played out.

My sources tell me that the section in red is stated more strongly than what actually occurred. More like a pat on the back and please be a good boy.

If he feels betrayed it is because he tried to create and champion a cause that no one else wants to fight for.

IMHO it was all about power.

Seems he is intent to hang his jersey in the rafters friend.

I will try to call him as I have a $$ transaction with him and owe him $30 for a hat for MrsBoomm.

I have spent most of the day at my desk. A dreary way to spend a sunny day. The only reprieve was my backyard visitor.

Why, I saw Felicity at the Summer Summit. That's who I saw there.
Yep, I've been to every service except to hear the pre-11 AM devotional speakers.

I've gotten so many hugs and everybody has been so super friendly and warm and I'm having such a great time!!

Felicity was as fashionable as ever: fashionably late (Of the 130 people there, she was the 125th to arrive); and fashionably attired (Her walker matched her outfit perfectly).
Fashionable as ever? "Late" is never fashionable really but I was late because I was traveling with my mom. She's habitually late. So that's why.

But Bro. ML dear ...... IF you'd been there this morning you would have taken note I'm sure ...... that I arrived on time, in fact a little early with TB.

BTW ...... D&J are now in attendance and the Pelets were there last night! You would have seen them had you been there.

And it was very nice seeing you! Hopefully you'll get back for another service. The Urquharts were there this morning as well. I was SO happy to get a chance to see them and to talk with Sis. U. She's right up there among my favorites alongside your grandmother.

*QUALITY* is the word that comes to mind for sure.

Sis. Destiny.......

I didn't see you and your mom until the end of the service and wanted to get a chance to talk with you but there were other people waiting to speak with me and I never got the chance.

Hopefully, I'll see you before the weekend is over.
