Illegals dominate several job markets (especially in construction) here in Texas. They drive wages down so a citizen can't live off doing that kind of work unless they are loaded up on welfare and packed a dozen per house.
They also crowd emergency rooms, stressing an already stressed healthcare system to the near breaking point.
I've actually known numerous illegals. Of the men under 50, only one wasn't a dope smoker or alcoholic, only three weren't living the thug life, and every single one (men and women all ages) most emphatically did NOT consider themselves "Americans" at all. They're here for the money, welfare, and jobs, all provided by the "gringos".
Every liberal I've ever met lives in a fantasy world, disconnected from the real world "out here". They do not live where they have to experience the real effects of the stupid policies they endorse for everyone else.
Which is why I value a liberal's opinion slightly less than I value gum on the bottom of my shoe.

Sadly, without some kind of wall or barrier, no policy will have any real sticking power.
I've never met a person who actually lost their job to an illegal. You're a first.

Shut. The. Front. Door.
This has to be a first. I'm shocked, shocked I say! There's actually a scenario in which Aquila both does not know a person affected nor does he have a story about it!
Incredible!

LOL
It's true! But I live way up here in Ohio. I'm sure that if I lived in a boarder state I'd personally know people in your position.
I'd like to know the details about what you experienced. Please feel free to send me a private message if you want to share more about this.

Re: Sarah Huckabee Removed From Restaurant:
#1 Restaurant had every right to ask her to leave.
#2 Politicians should not be asking citizens to harass those just because they share different political opinions.
#3 Illegal Immigration is a problem and it's been allowed to fester for far to long. Both political parties are to blame and at this point it's festered so long that no remedy is going to be pleasant. We can't detain families together, we can't let them into the country undetained, we can't separate them. We can't send them back to Mexico with no trial.
The real solution is to process their cases in a timely manner. In fact at this point that's just as important as the wall. The whole family separation and detention crisis gets resolved if that happens.

Yes, tree work.
No mechanic work, too specialized. Very few carpentry jobs because of what we do. But demolition work yes, removal work yes, tree work, yes, landscaping yes, painting, yes. All grunt work, yes. So jobs that are being sought to be protected are for guys like me who live in the low to middle glass sector. Oh, I forgot our resident bleeding heart (Aquila) has his girlfriend work so they can make enough money to live in a better area. So, he doesn’t see what the rank and file go through. Also he isn’t in a church community that has the rank and file so he can hear first hand their struggle. No, like most liberals he is out of touch, and only gets his bleeding heart cues from NPR and other mind altering media.

No, not on this level.
Chris already told the forum how he felt low income areas are criminals and substance abusers. He doesn’t want his kids around the hood. Therefore, he doesn’t know what the rank and file face. Nor does he give care. It is too stupid to think that an EMT, fireman, doctor, car mechanic technician, engerneer, or any other specialty job would be threatened. No, it is the rank and file American citizen and LEGAL immigrant who suffers. Those who are low to middle income.
Aquila is just out of touch.

Ohio has as many illegals as anywhere else.
You just don’t run in those areas. Therefore no personal contact is established. You do zero outreach on a personal level to those communities. Even when you attended House Churches are Us. No immigrants were part of your triple vanilla latte group gatherings.

EB, she chooses to work.
And, for the work God has provided her, we're thankful. My kids live in a nice area where they don't go to bed hearing gun shots like I did growing up. We also live 11 houses down from her mother who was diagnosed with vascular dementia. This allows us to be close and care for her needs as well.
The first priority any parent has is their children's safety. Scripture doesn't condemn women who choose to work or bring in an income. In fact, it praises it ( Proverbs 31:10-31). Why mock that because you have chosen a different approach?

Why mock Chris? Because I don't believe you, and that you have an excuse for anything you do. Anyone reading our exchange for the first time would think, wow, Dom is pretty hard on Aquila Tinkerbell Chris. No, because they don't know what we have discussed concerning this issue in the past. You believe we who live in tough neighborhoods don't care about our children. That is the liberal pinko observation you hold. Save the poor, just don't let them live anywhere near you.
Sorry to hear about Christine's mom.
