Those were not official policies of the Canadian government. It might be possible that they are the official policies of a given province. Each province is slightly different. To say that those policies apply to all of Canada, is well, disingenuous. Evidently actual Canadians under these programs have testified that they have had no problem with colonoscopies.

Basically, I'm going to the actual people these alleged "policies" would impact. And they found it all laughable. LOL

You're free to click the link and join the forum. Debate actual Canadians about their system. Tell them what is and isn't covered and tell them how they are denied care. Let them validate the claim or correct you.

You're welcome to argue it with them.

These are the guidelines as put forth by a Canadian government agency. Now, whether the provinces follow the guidelines is obviously up to them. But to pass it off as though it's not really the official Canadian government is false.

I still am very skeptical, but whatever. I'm not going to demand they be Canadian doctors before I accept their claims. How many of those you questioned actually had a colonoscopy, and how old are they?

Besides, people never lie on message boards. Or post fake news about pastors and lesbians . . .

It is incredibly hypocritical for you to take anonymous message board claims about this, but demand a person be a climatologist or work for NASA before you will consider what a person has to say about the global warming hoax.

I'm just saying, talk to real people. Articles on both sides abound. However, when living among them when in Canada or talking to them over the internet, they can answer your questions from real life experience with the system. Are you implying that every Canadian that would laugh at your information and say that it isn't necessarily the case, is lying?

I'd like to draw your attention to what you said,

Nope, nope, nope. At age 30 in Canada, you do NOT get a colonoscopy, free or otherwise.
There are plenty of Canadians who will tell you that what you are saying isn't so. In fact, if you read the guidelines closely, they read:

Quote:
Summary of recommendations for clinicians and policy-makers

The CTFPHC will continue to carefully monitor the scientific developments in screening for colorectal cancer and will report back to Canadians within 5 years with an update of the 2016 guidelines.

These recommendations apply to adults aged ≥50 years who are not at high risk for colorectal cancer (CRC). They do not apply to those with previous CRC or polyps, inflammatory bowel disease, signs or symptoms of CRC, history of CRC in one or more first degree relatives, or adults with hereditary syndromes predisposing to CRC (e.g. familial adenomatous polyposis, Lynch Syndrome).

Recommendations
•We recommend screening adults aged 60 to 74 for CRC with FOBT (either gFOBT or FIT) every two years OR flexible sigmoidoscopy every 10 years.
(Strong recommendation; moderate quality evidence)
•We recommend screening adults aged 50 to 59 for CRC with FOBT (either gFOBT or FIT) every two years OR flexible sigmoidoscopy every 10 years.
(Weak recommendation; moderate quality evidence)
•We recommend not screening adults aged 75 years and over for CRC.
(Weak recommendation; low quality evidence)
•We recommend not using colonoscopy as a screening test for CRC.
(Weak recommendation; low quality evidence)
These are recommendations. They are not policy mandates. In fact, a Canadian doctor can disregard these recommendations and request a colonoscopy for a patient if they are convinced that it is necessary.

You're misinforming the reader.
