That, my man, is one of the musical geniuses of our time, Donald Fagen. He along with guitarist Walter Becker made up the legendary 70's pop-rock-jazz fusion band Steely Dan. Go to You Tube and type in Steely Dan and you will get a chance to hear how these guys wrote the music for their classic album "Aja". They tell the stories behind each song and the musicians that were involved in the recordings. One of the songs "Deacon Blues" is one of my favorites and thus I chose it to be my user name. The signature contains the lyrics to the last half of the chorus.

"Pride of the Neighborhood" comes from the song "Josie" from the same album. The lyric is:

"When Josie comes home,
So good,
She's the pride of the neighborhood
She's the raw flame
The live wire
She prays like a Roman
With her eyes on fire"

I figured with all of the little clues in my online persona I would run into another Steely Dan aficionado, but alas I have found none. Its still kind of fun keeping people guessing. One guy pm'd me and asked if I was from Alabama. LOL! Another person thought the picture was of me---I guess a lot of people have. At least he's got more hair than I do!

Good to hear. I lost my original wedding band one month after we were married (guess God was trying to show me wedding rings are sinful) and I never got another one. A couple of Christmases ago I told Mary I would like one for Cmas and Gary helped her with a really nice one for me---nice but simple. Last year I bought a ring Mary liked as a replacement for her other wedding rings (she has the one I bought her, she also has an antique one her grandmother wore) She liked this one b/c it was not raised but rather flat with braided white gold. It retailed for $1000, Gary's price on it was $375, and he sold it to me for $180. We aren't big into jewelry, but when you need something like that, its good to have those connections.

I'm glad he's back in church. He is a huge blessing to his church and his family and even to us.
