Re: will you know your loved ones in heaven

I look at it this way... through Christ Jesus, God will restore creation to its Edenic glory. Here's a post I posted some time ago on what I believe:
I believe we will have glorified bodies in Heaven's New Jerusalem on the New Earth, ruled by the never fading majesty of creation's King, Jesus Christ. I believe there will be worship, prayer, praise, family, love, cities, nations, cultures, trades, farms, music, food, arts, sports, dancing, laughter, exploring, hiking, nature, vast heavenly shores, sandy beaches, holy science, sacred learning, swimming in cool crystal clear waters, ....awe inspiring snow covered mountains. All in a redeemed New Creation. Some will be given roles of leadership in the earth's government as kings, others will be given leadership in the church as priests forever, others will find their callings in other ministries throughout eternity. Many that have felt the call of God on their lives here, but who have never been able to fulfill that call, will realize their calling in eternity as we serve the Lord forever. I believe the eternal Heaven will be full of every enjoyment originally intended for man. Sin and Satan will have won nothing. We will experience a never ending and unfading Heavenly Renaissance.

All things will be redeemed. I get so excited just thinking about it!!!!
Numbers 14:21
But as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD.

Isaiah 11:9-10
9They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
10And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.

Isaiah 65:17-25
17For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.
18But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy.
19And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying.
20There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed.
21And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.
22They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.
23They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them.
24And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.
25The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD.

Habakkuk 2:14
For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

Revelation 21:1-27
1And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
2And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
4And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. 5And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
6And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
7He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
8But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
9And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.
10And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,
11Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;
12And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:
13On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.
14And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
15And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.
16And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.
17And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.
18And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.
19And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;
20The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolyte; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.
21And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.
22And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.
23And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
24And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.
25And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.
26And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it. 27And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

Revelation 22:1-2
1And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
2In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
What will eternity be like in Heaven's New Jerusalem? One word...GLORIOUS.
In my opinion... unless God restores creation to its pre-fall glory... Satan will have won. Christ rose from the dead in a glorified physical body. He wasn't just a ghost... and so shall we be.

Now... a Christoplatonist perspective teaches an undefinable "disembodied" eternity. I can't say that I buy that.

No, there will be nothing recognizable resurrected

Seems as if a lot of persons are believing they are going to receiving a new physical body that will be a perfect body in the likeness of who they once were when they are resurrected following their death at the end of this life?

This will not happen

Our physical bodies are mortal as is "the soul [female] that sins" who is "Eve" still living in us after Adam#1 AKA "spirit of man" who died at the cross (provided we were baptized into the death of Jesus if we are going to have any hope to be resurrected with Him)............So far so good?

Consequently the "seed of Christ" that is immortal and incorruptible was sown into what is mortal and corruptible before it is raised incorruptible following the death of what is corruptible.......... Amen? I think so!

The soul (AKA the mind, will and emotions) is a body for a spirit and the spirit of man can never produce the mind of Christ............ only the Holy Spirit of God can do this that too is already immortal and because the "female" [AKA soul) comes from the male.

Therefore, what we are seeing in the first resurrection of those who will reign with Christ, will do so in this life that starts with the baptism in the Holy Spirit that takes us from a sentence of death and being "condemned already" to living a life with Christ.

On the other hand the second resurrection that follows our physical death that is our second death (providing Adam in us died at the cross) does not include a physical body or for that matter any type of body that is going to recognized as who we are in this present "earthly tabernacle" we all abide in.

Those whose names are not found in the Book of Life will get the LOF but the second death will not hold any power over those who were already resurrected in this life. The thousand year thing that throws people off is just because our physical death brings in a different day as we go from a "day" of salvation, then dying and being resurrected into day of judgment.

Christians who are expecting to be physically resurrected following their physical death with a new physical body are not being realistic.

Re: will you know your loved ones in heaven

i'm guessing you are right; but i see no reason that a being of light might not relay to another that "i was your sister on earth," or whatever--i just doubt that it will be very relevant at that time.

hmm, i don't know...existence as a "being of light" doesn't sound so bad to me!

If "relay" means relate, I agree

x2.......

For those times when our Father sends "someone" back as an angel with a mission to perform, (which is who I believe was rubbing the oil on my chest when I came back to life as we know it) I think we will be "clothed in a physical body" just so we appear as persons in the same manner Paul warned us be careful of how we treat strangers not knowing when we may be encountering an angel

Re: will you know your loved ones in heaven

We know that Christ was glorified, his mortal body took on immortality.

Many would have us believe that a bodily risen savior would rule an eternal kingdom of disembodied "ghosts".

We shall be glorified and we shall be like Him.

Jesus had a physical body that never committed a sin............ something that only He alone has ever accomplished that makes his body a major difference from any of the bodies of "all have sinned and come short of the glory of God

So, since all of those who have sinned but through mercy and grace have already gone to be with Christ, are their bodies not still in their graves? I think so.

Therefore, what body do they have since they are already in the resurrection?

If they haven't entered into Christ's resurrection (a bodily resurrection) they clearly aren't in the resurrection. lol!

They are in a state of physical death, while their spirits are present with God's Spirit. They aren't standing before the risen Jesus in glorified bodies yet.
