You know, questions are interesting things. A Doctor can learn much about a patient's illness by careful questioning. A Teacher on the other hand, can
teach much by a carefully crafted question. A Lawyer at the same time can, by careful use of questions create "reasonable doubt" or even the presumption of guilt in the minds of a jury.
Jesus often used skillful questions to teach spiritual truth. What is the purpose of YOUR questions? You seen to create confusion in your posts. Are you here to learn? Are you here to teach? What are your true motives? I wonder...because you seem very unclear in your purpose here. Your sole purpose seems to create confusion and contention.
As to the question at hand, it is clear that there are those who make merchandise of the Word of God. The Lord will deal with them. On the other hand, there is a clear principle laid out in the Word of God. For those who may be unfamiliar with it, here it is:
Deuteronomy 25:4
Thou shalt not muzzle the ox when he treadeth out the corn.
Jesus clarifies and affirms this principle in the Gospels:
Matthew 10:9-10
9 Do not acquire gold, or silver, or copper for your money belts, 10 or a bag for your journey, or even two [coats, or sandals, or a staff; for
the worker is worthy of his support.
Paul reaffirms it in his Epistles:
1 Corinthians 9:14
14 Even so hath
the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel.
"In the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established". That principle is repeated seven times in Scripture. Here are three witnesses from the Word of God that assert that making your living from the Gospel is a biblical principle. Those are not my words they are the Word of God! And they meet the "three witness" test.
Your questions on this thread and your other one seem designed to cast doubt on the authority of Scripture and the faith of those on this forum, none of whom you have taken the time to get to know.
You have reacted negatively to every attempt to correct or reach out to you and even when Praxeas sent you a very private warning and admonition, as is biblical, you publicly rebuked him.
The Apostle Paul made an interesting observation in writing to Timothy. He spoke of those who were:
Wanting to be teachers of the Law, even though they do not understand either what they are saying or the matters about which they make confident assertions. (
1 Timothy 1:7)
You ask questions, yet you do not answer. You do not teach or present anything constructive in your posts. You come across as proud and arrogant. You challenge others to "debate" you when you haven't even established the most basic of propositions. You resist correction and reject attempts to befriend you by those who have clearly demonstrated their own Christ-like character repeatedly in these pages.
So I would ask you Sir. What is your purpose in coming here.
