Seekerman, if you think that the New Testament church is going to turn into a network of house churches, you're sniffing glue. God uses all kinds. House churches work, traditional (so-called romanist) churches work. Jesus said "you shall know them by their fruits". The fruit of traditional churches while not blameless, is pretty stellar: missionaries around the globe, orphanages, hospitals, drug and alcohol rehab, Bible schools, universities, seminaries, third world hunger relief, disaster relief, homeless shelters, food pantries, clothes closets, prison ministry, nursing homes, soup kitchens, etc. My suspicion would be is that you are anti-tithe. That may attract some folks, but tithes and offerings have fueled evangelism around the globe. You may cite the abuses of tithes and offerings in individual cases, and those cases are indefensible. But the answer to abuse is not discarding the whole idea.
