Update on Bro. Steve Willoughby
UPDATE ON STEVE WILLOUGHBY
We have so many friends and heart ties all over the world. There are so many people who have shown our family love and care. We can never be more grateful or thankful for every prayer, card, email, phone call, and act of kindness. So many of you have shared your stories and told us of how my father has impacted your lives and how much you care for him because of it. The least we could do then is to post an update about my dad on facebook so everyone would know how he is doing and keep it in prayer (as I know many of you do daily THANK YOU).
Since my dad has been back in the states on medical leave, there has not been much change in his medical status. He was considered to be very stable with good vital signs. This was a very positive thing as he was often able to attend church services as well as having quality time with family and friends. We had a very enjoyable holiday season with Thanksgiving and Christmas. There have been lots of good memories to last a life time.
I would like to thank all those who did stop by in Mattoon to visit him and our family. The fact that so many of you took time out of your busy schedules to be with us means so so much.
There has been some change to his condition in the last two days however. Most recently he has been put on an oxygen machine, and his BP does show some drops in pressure. He also has been considerably weaker and unable to speak. He is still alert and aware of the people and conversations around him, however his strength doesn’t allow him to actively participate.
We aren’t able to give a time frame neither do we know what to expect day to day. However we are trusting and believing that God’s will SHALL be done. We know that the entire time throughout his sickness God has been with us. He was never supposed to last more than 6 months. Every day is a miracle. We know our God is sovereign and most wise.
We appreciate all your prayers for us and our close relatives. You can also continue to pray for God’s healing as well as for him to be pain free without suffering of any kind.
For now we will be keeping family close, so if you were considering making a visit to see my dad we kindly ask that you give our family time and space to be with him during this period. We love you all and will keep you informed of any changes.
Thank you for your support and prayers,
The Willoughby Family
