Re: Prominent Memphis Area Pastor Resigns
God is always on time.....and if allowed.....HE will send the right man....
Praying that man will listen, take the challenge set before him..and GO...
In the meantime, they are under a great ministry during this healing process.
Sometimes, we forget that the Church belongs still to the ONE who paid the price...
blessings to you all on the Sunday morning!

God is "always on time" but that doesn't mean that human beings work within the time frame God thinks best. God does not force people to do anything. So if a church wants to drag out choosing a new pastor for a year or more they can talk about "Gods time" all they want but I would seriously doubt it was "Gods time" and Gods will for them to do that.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

"Today’s present "tabloid mentality" that automatically prejudges people to be malicious, nefarious, or evil, must be repudiated by those who walk under God’s banner of love. In contrast, love thinks no evil without the facts and even when evil is confirmed in people, love does not rejoice in it, but rather rejoices only when the truth sets these prisoners free." Are you speaking of the Memphis church? That I do not know about.
As far as my own, the way I look at it, is if they cannot WAIT then they need to go somewhere else anyway.
Who needs someone that is UNFAITHFUL?

It can also go both ways! If those people cannot be counted on to wait, then they really may be happier someplace else, which would be better for the church in question anyway. If people are not happy with the church they are at, that is something that can certianly cause trouble.
And who would make THEM the judge of what is God's will? A church is NOT like "Burger King" you CANNOT "have it your way"!

And I could turn it around on you, Let that same church "settle" for just "anyone" in a short amount of time and they can end up with a hireling.
Sorry, but I think your logic is flawed.

I wouldn't be part of a church with people who want the world to know what happened or didn't happen. If you can't trust the insiders, move on. The bigger problem are the insiders with diarrhea of the mouth and constipation of the brain.

Somewhere on here there were even pictures of the new work and the folks starting it? But that is y'alls's business but it has been my experience the longer this drags out it won't be for the good of the church. I know of several cases where good meaning officials turned down many good men because they enjoyed what they were doing.

True, true!

Once a very successful coach/leader leaves an organization, they are very hard to replace because the bar is so high! They look for another diamond, while rejecting possible diamonds in the rough. Sometimes they swing for the fences and strike out!
