He admitted he had messed up but defended himself with "Well, I don't believe what I did justified divorce."

The conversation eventually played out and right before we disconnected he stated that he had heard I left the UPC, and asked why. I told him of my disagreements with official positions.

This led to a 10 minute lecture comprised of pleas for me to return to "The Truth." "You know what's right," he said, as if I were somehow backslid.

I just listened, realizing nothing I would say could make him realize how warped he is.
Not surprised in the least. In the UPCI mindset, there is nothing more unforgivable than refusing to enforce man-made traditions on people in the church. Once that line is crossed, there is no coming back.

I am not sure as to why you ask me this question Brother Benincasa.

All I want to know is was I given the correct information or do the pastors not pay tithes up through the organizational ladder. You see, I do not like being lied to or misinformed about where my money goes. I had and continue to have a right to know where I pay out every single penny and to whom.

Just being a good steward of what God has given to me.

If I was asked to give the foreskin of any man, gentile or jew as payment for anything, ...it wouldn't happen.

Aha! Just goofing around. Ok. I can take that!

My answer is still the same. Just be glad your foreskin wasn't required.

Re: Prominent Memphis Area Pastor Resigns

No the Pastors of the UPC do not pay tithe up the organizational ladder. Typically a Pastor will pay his tithe to his pastor, or to a deserving ministry. In my case I pay part to the retired pastor of this church and part to evangelists that we have. Trust me....every pastor I know in the UPC pays tithe and then some....usually a lot more.

Wow!

Hey AreYouReady!

I need to clean my monitor screen and my glasses, because I thought you had typed EARRINGS instead of EARNINGS.

Please accept my sincerest apologies.
