Re: Prominent Memphis Area Pastor Resigns

I have managed to stay out of this for 53 pages 'cause it's just none of my business... but I had a funny to share...

One local pastor was caught several years back sleeping with several women from his congregation... he evidently lured them into bed under the guise of marriage counseling... Just saw a post from his new wife (who I used to go to church with) on FB that he is not only pastoring a church in another state but is giving.... drumroll... a marriage seminar! WTH?

I have a professional licence that can be taken for misconduct... shouldn't pastors have something like that?

A man or woman doesn't have to be reprimanded or warned in public by a prophetic ministry for it to be legitimate. And beyond the sin involved…no one knows what went on behind closed doors.
And if it was not of God, that person that was outed is ruined

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Fine. Here we go.

I think there should be pastor licensing. The only requirement should be to produce a signed and notarized letter from God stating that you are called to be a pastor.

Simple!
