All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost. ~Tolkien
Yes, Amanah, that link is where I found this thread located. In fact, when I was trying to locate a certain minister, I also found what was said about him on this site.
Not intending to "dig up bones", but the real fact here is that much was said and it IS STILL on the internet for all to read.
Not trying to tell the forum owner what to do (it's his/her forums, they can do what they deem to be necessary) but it might be a good idea for the administrator to just remove the entire thread if people do not want "bones being dug up". As long as it remains up, someone will stumble upon this thread on the net in the future.
Likewise, it would be good if the author of the spiritual abuse website would update the outcome.
AB is correct. Let's be real here... cause I'm too old to pretend otherwise. If it was most any other Saint in the church who was convicted in a court of law for defamation of character, they would have been sat down on the pew by the pastor for a long time. They would have been an embarrassment to the Pastor and to said church.
FYI The Reverend Mark Fogarty is now the District Secretary of the Georgia UPCI. He got so much attention from badgering this poor girl that they gave him a promotion! Some even lied for him on the witness stand after they took an oath to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth - they lied.
You know, I would be soooo afraid to lie for anybody and about anybody because I know that God hears it and we are going to account for every word we speak. That is a very sobering thought.

HA HA HA HA! I grew up in the RCC...never even saw the pope in my life, but even if I did, I wouldn't kiss his ring...
My sister has a hard time with me because she absolutely adores the virgin Mary. She is among the RCC crowd that believes Mary is co-redemptrix.

And you guys want to know the reasons I left the UPC? The Georgia District was the main reason. Nothing to do with doctrine or standards - everything to do with racism, prejudice, meanness, hatred, hypocrisy, slander, insane rules and regulations and incompetent & illiterate "leadership". I loved those men - I just could not live with them nor tolerate seeing the corruption and looking the other way. Pitiful!

AB - there are some good men in the Ga UPC. However, there are some who are not. One of the good ones even testified for the prosecution against this "pastor". Of course, all he had to do was tell the truth and he did so.
I do not trust this website, simply because it appears to be geared specifically toward anyone that has an issue with the 'Holiness Standards' or holding that the Acts 2:38 message is true. There are many of these sites in abundance, but I find that often their information is old, out of date, and decidedly one sided. I was in a church where there were some legal problems, and it was not the pastor's fault, but the saint did not due what the pastor said, and lawyers got involved and tried to allow the government to interfere with church finances. Attention was given to the case from HQ and other denominations because of the ramifications. I have to wonder what drove the agenda here. I wonder if the lawyer pushed this case as far as it went for the purpose of having a major victory under his belt. I do not know, and I do not care, but those things do happen. Remember the Duke University before we condem with the knowledge that a select few choose to give us.
There is nothing to be gained and everything to be lost by persuing this matter. The fact is that we have hearsay and gossip. Neither of those pleases our Lord and Master. Let this thread die, and the facts will be sorted before the judgment seat of Jesus Christ who will render a just verdict.

Then, I would suggest not bringing it up on this forum. Let that site do its updates and keep yourself and others here out of harm's way by not mentioning anything further here.
There's a difference between stumbling upon it and responding to it, correct? Just because one stumbles upon something doesn't give it the okay to respond.
Like Jay, I would agree that this thread should be closed. Enough said about it.
I do not trust this website,
then why do you come here to read? If things said here are "not trustworthy", then aren't you wasting your time? Just curious.

There is an easy way to let a thread die - STOP POSTING ON IT. Duh!

There may be a difference in "stumbling upon and responding" as what you say, but just remember, you all were the ones who posted 117 pages of this and to expect people not to post responses after you all did your postings is not even reasonable... unless it is closed to further postings. It is still up on the internet and there will be people from time to time that will see this and post their opinions. Like it or not, that is the way this cyberworld turns.
The administrator has the power to remove the thread or to close the thread from any more postings.

Actually, I like it when old posts are resurrected rather than new ones being started. If this one was closed all someone else would do is start a new thread titled "Whatever happened to the pastor who was convicted?" and bamm, we would be off again.
