But-------Kohls came through for me. It was on sale, 25% off , then you can use another %off coupon there and I had one for 15 or 20% off, plus I had a $10 Kohls Kash.....what can I say? I'm cheap.

So I made my big purchase. It is wonderful. It would have been worth the $19.95.

There are several brands, but mine is the Food Network brand.
Does it look like an ice cream scoop, but on a smaller scale, with a release clip?

Re: Cookies and Brownies

I got mine from Pampered Chef back in the day when I sold the stuff. I liked my price at that time too, since they came with my kit - free

Yes, and I use it faithfully since my oatmeal cookies are an easy non dairy treat.

Re: Cookies and Brownies

I made a new cookie recipe yesterday and I have to say - it's the easiest one ever! The cookies come out moist and stay moist - another bonus

Here you go:

1 Lemon flavored cake mix
2 1/4 c. Cool whip (thawed)
1 egg

Mix all that together. It will be sticky. That's ok.
Scoop out a teaspoon or so, roll it in powdered sugar (generously), then place on a greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350 for about 11-13 minutes. Let cool on the pan for a couple of minutes before you try to move remove them. Makes about 2 dozen cookies.

Let me know what you think

Diane's Sugar-Free & Healthy Chocolate Chip Cookies

1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 1/4 cup oatmeal
1 cup grain sweetened carob or chocolate chips or raisins
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Put oatmeal in a blender and process until smooth like flour. Cream butter or oil, xylitol, egg, molasses and vanilla. Stir in flour, oatmeal, salt, baking soda and baking powder. Add chips or raisins and nuts. Form small balls and flatten onto a cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 minutes. Makes 2 dozen healthy cookies.

I'm glad that you asked. I just ran across this article and it was the first negative thing I've read about Xylitol. I'll need to study this a little closer. Someone gave me the recipe and I haven't tried it yet, but could tell the ingredients would make a good cookie. I guess while checking, I'd use organic cane sugar in place of the Xylitol and cut it back to 1/2 cup.

Quote:
Xylitol is a 5-carbon sugar alcohol found in many fruits and vegetables and produced in small amounts by the human body. Xylitol is also found in things like hardwood. Keep in mind that the xylitol in chewing gum is not necessarily the same thing as xylitol in fruits or vegetables because it has to be treated and processed in order to extract the sugar crystals from the fruit or vegetable. This is akin to the differences between synthetic vitamins and naturally occurring vitamins in foods. They are not the same thing.
