Our Christmas starts Christmas Eve - we all meet at my grandma's at noon for a big Brunch and then everyone opens presents from her and we just hang out for awhile, playing games, watching football or Christmas movies. We used to go somewhere else that evening but this year we aren't so we will probably stay at my granny's longer then go home and relax. Then Christmas morning we get up and do our own thing at our house and then meet at my mom's at noon for more gift exchanging and a big dinner! Then that evening we go to my MIL's for a gift exchange again and by then everyone is too full to even discuss dinner!!!

We decided this year to buy for kids only because there were many of us who were tight financially this year due to job changes and just simply the economy. So we mainly bought for our daughters - and spent waaaayyy too much! We got Jaz a Hannah Montanna guitar, some princess barbies, DVD's, CD's, clothes, shoes, laptop learning toy, a board game and a few other item I don't want to list everything plus her stocking is FULL! We got Ariel a few baby toys & some clothes and her stocking is FULL!!!

We bought my neice & nephew MP3 players, my littlest neice a few toys.

And then the two older neices are getting giftcards!!!!

And no, we are not attending church but we will be remembering the reason for the season as a family both days - that is what is great about having a Christian family on every side!

I fly out of New Hampshire, land at SFO, drive to Stockton, hug my family, eat Mexican food and In-N-Out, and kiss my wife...not neccesarily in that order!

That comment reminded me of something that was said last night I had to share!

My youngest came in and said to me Mommy arent you glad school is out? I said well yes I am but why do you ask? She said well that means you are off work until Jan 7th!!!!!!!!!! LOL

I asked oh how is that? She said well you dont have to work to take us to school or nothing! LOL... I thought hmmm is that all she thinks I do? Then she came back and made the sweetest comment... she said well Thats all you have to do because we will take care of everything else.. we will clean and cook for you!!!!!!!! AWWWW

Now if I could trust the cooking thing we would be alright! They are awesome cleaners but ummmm I only have 2 that can cook... the other 2 are learning!

Welll...Sunday we are having smoked ribs and all the fixin's, my sister is cooking on Christmas Eve so I won't have to, and I'll put a copy of our Christmas Dinner menu at the bottom of this post. We plan on going to the Tulsa Zoo one day...on Polar Bear Days you get in for half price. On Christmas morning we open gifts, have a big pancake breakfast, and then lounge around and play games all day until time for dinner.

This Christmas vacation will have several work days scheduled in, as our yard is still full of tree limbs and branches from the ice storm.

My Christmas budget is set at $1500.00 (+ some extra grocery money for the week of Christmas) I've done pretty good so far, I haven't gone over, and I haven't bought anything on credit. I love the fact that when January rolls around, we have no Christmas Debts.

3 gifts per kid, plus stocking stuffers. 1 small gift each for the adults in attendance. A bigger gift for Jeff and my Mother. Gifts that I mailed for all my nieces and nephews. 1 gift each for the kids in my Sunday School class. I spent about $100 on decorations, and I did use part of the budget to buy a 9 ft. pre-lit tree. (I'm tired of cleaning up after real trees.) All that, and I still have a LITTLE bit of money left!!!! All I have to say is: TUESDAY MORNING ROCKS!!!!!

The kids also have to take about a month's worth of allowance and buy a small gift for every person that will be here on Christmas day. They have the opportunity to earn extra for Christmas by doing certain jobs around the house.

We don't do electronics for Christmas gifts. Jeff buys games, mp3 players, etc., as he gets the money in his paypal account, so it wouldn't make sense to spend the kids' Christmas money on that.
