What are your plans for Fathers Day?
Do you have big plans? Got any great gifts planned?
Why do we put more into Mothers Day, usually?

My husband will be presented with a gift of appreciation in the morning and he's preaching a Father's Day message.
My kids and grandkids are coming here for dinner. Having a roast beef dinner as well as chicken, salad, lots of veggies, rice, potatoes, etc. And then coffee and dessert.
He'll get gifts and cards here from the kids.
That's about it.

I am at the church preparing a powerpoint presentation for service in the morning. The sunday schooler's will be making a presentation for the dad's after the main part of service is over. The men will be receiving a small gift...a simple token of appreciation, nothing extravagant. Afterwards, I will spend quality time with my family. Another cookout, and my kids....can't think of anything else I would rather do tomorrow.

My Dad died in 1998 and my wife's Dad died in 2000 so neither of us have a (an earthly) father. We have 5 children. Two live out of state (Michigan and Oklahoma). One lives about 35 miles from here. He stopped by today with a card and a gift because he can't be here tomorrow. The other two who live here in Ohio are planning on being here, but only 4 of the 13 grandkids will be here. Our pastor is planning a Fathers' Day sermon. Afterward we'll come home and do some grilling out. The weather will be in the nineties and we haven't had rain for a loooong time so the grass is all brown and dormant like it usually gets in August.

Going to Church and hearing Bro Leaman (sp?) preach. He is the son from Florida.
They are heading out on an Alaska Cruise tomorrow.
In Church us dads will be praised while if the truth were known we are nothing outside of God-it is all by his Grace.
The family has voted and they tell me they will take me to an all-you-can-eat-buffet where one can eat and eat until they have to repent!
So much for the diet!

I get to pay for my kids to take ME out to eat....
I wish I lived closer to civilization and had replaced my grill for then I would be helping dispose of the remains of a dead cow!

My wife after service fixed Bar-B-Q beef ribs, potato salad, baked beans, corn on the cob, Louisiana fried chicken, red roasted potatoes(for the unpotato sald folks, macaroni & cheese. It was great. Some of the family was over.
I taught this morning on OUR Father.
Tonite I am preaching a message about Him dedicated to Him.
