Re: Sen. Ted Cruz Makes It Official
The linked article contains the truth: Cruz was a Canadian citizen when he ran for Senate, never disclosed that fact. The article also demonstrates exactly how and why Cruz is not eligible for POTUS.
Cruz talks a good talk. But he is an anti-constitutionalist by his actions. As are his supporters.
He's the GOP's Obama, straight out of Central Casting.

Re: Sen. Ted Cruz Makes It Official
Esaias, Thanks for your irrelevant links that nobody ever reads, except you and a few others.
Unless the Supreme Court takes up the issue and defines a citizen any other way, Sen. Ted Cruz is a US citizen by birth via his mother. Your argument is lost.
I wonder if you realize Ted Cruz has a decades long history of opposing any treaty that would undermine our US sovereignty that would subject us to any extralegal authority of any foreign body?
I wonder if you were aware of the strong and bold stances he took on behalf of the American people, that squishes like Rand Paul backed down on, i.e. Obamacare and especially concerning the IMF?
Obama used the Russia and Ukraine situation to try and expand the IMF, which would have increased exposure of the US taxpayer by billions and would have undermined our influence at the IMF, decreasing our voting share while increasing Russia's. So, Cruz goes to the Senate floor to object, met with scorn once again. He is urging the House not to go along with giving up our sovereignty to an "unelected" international body. It works, he gets a vote of 98-2, but guess what? Rand Paul works with him and then when the vote comes down, Rand Paul turns and votes against it.
Ted Cruz and Mike Lee are the two Senators with the highest Conservative ratings at Heritage and Conservative Review.
He has more American blood in his little finger than 98% of the rest of Congress.
So, again, until the Supreme Court comes in and redefines "citizen" for us, your argument is moot.

That's just your opinion that a strong emotion would tend to overlook flaws. Politics isn't like the church. We disciple and work with people, along with their failures and flaws. In politics, if you start out strong and end up weak, we turn on a dime and walk away. Ted Cruz has been consistent for so long, it's hard to imagine walking away from supporting him. Not that it couldn't happen and it would certainly be very disappointing, but all of us know that it could.
If Deacon Blues or David are reading this, they know exactly what I am talking about here. We aren't going to die and bleed for politics, but we can be very, very engaged. The Gospel is a whole different story for us - we are engaged all the time.
While all of this political wrangling is going on, am I also reading a book entitled, The Emotionally Healthy Church: A Strategy for Discipleship That Actually Changes Lives. So, yes, we do have a life outside of politics.

Nothing is wrong with it, but the senator pointed out that it is all political theatre, blowing smoke up our tail pipes. Yet, all of a sudden he is the arch angel Gabriel, and decides to call the liars out? You mean they never lied before? Come on, something is going on in the kitchen and seemingly they are the only ones who knows what's cooking.
Showing the people that he is here to be our protector, he will fight for us by any means necessary. He is even going to throw his own under the bus to keep America free. I can just hear the roar of the maddening crowd singing "The Horst Wessel Song".
Being president of the United States isn't the same as being a senator of Texas. Texas Governor GeeDub found that out.
Sister deer in headlights? More like Grizzer bear with head in tent door. Corruption in D.C didn't start last year, it has been a glowing business for decades. Politicians make huge money from lobbyists, and do favors that gain rewards either immediately or down the road. Senator Cruz wants us to think that he has never told a lie, never did a favor? OK, he chopped down a cherry tree and fessed up to who did it right away.
|
Do you realize that, yesterday, he laid his whole political future on the line with that floor speech? He has been hated since he arrived in the Senate from day one because he wouldn't play their games. They have labeled him the "Firebrand". Being that John Boehner has already given him the middle finger, he didn't do himself any favors going against the Washington Cartel. And I certainly didn't see Fox News supporting anything he did yesterday, implying that they are also part and parcel.
So, is it a little lonely out on that limb by himself? He apparently doesn't give a flip. Good on him.
Quote:
Oh, your right they can't go to jail for lying or we wouldn't have any senators in the senate. The Dem majority leader Harry Reid lied, and apologized so all was well. We moved forward, and it was business as usual. But what I would like to point out what the senator from Texas said concerning the lie is that it was used to (to use the senator's word) a CORRUPT DEAL? You will find this at the 4 to 4.8 minute mark on your offered video. Now, unless Ted Cruz loves to be overly dramatic "corrupt" means "corruption?" So, this has some grave implication that Senator Ted Cruz didn't only accuse the Republican majority leader of lying, but striking corrupt deals? So, is the corruption which the senator from Texas is exposing "criminal?"
|
The "corruption" he is referring to is the dishonesty. Not every and all deals made are illegal, they are just unethical.
All he wants is for the Senate to ask one preliminary question - Do we have the constitutional authority to enact this bill?
When he was a Sophomore in high school, he became part of a team called the Constitutional Corroborators. They spent hundreds of hours reading the Constitution, the Federalist Papers, the anti-Federalist Papers, and the Debates on Ratification. They then memorized provisions of the Constitution in a shortened form. It was, TCC NCC PCC PAWN MaMa WReN".
The letters stand for the eighteen enumerated powers of Congress in Article I, section 8 of the Constitution, i.e., taxes, credit, commerce, naturalization, coinage, counterfeiting, post office, copyright, courts, piracy, Army, war, Navy, militia, money for the militia, Washington, D.C. rules, and necessary and proper." If it is not on the list, Congress does not ever have the constitutional authority over it.
These boys studied for hours and then began to speak at Rotary Clubs and Kiwanis clubs. While the members had lunch, the five boys would set up an easel and write from memory the entire Constitution in that short form they had memorized. They would also write a definition of socialism under the principle that if you do not know what it is, you cannot recognize when you have it. And then they would quote Thomas Jefferson, "If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, it expects what never was, and never will be", ending all of this with a 30 minute presentation on the Constitution.
So, please don't tell me that Ted Cruz doesn't know what he is doing or talking about. It won't fly.

Sorry sister I have no respect for Rush. I can't bring myself to listen to him because I believe he is a reptile.
|
I agree to an extent. I listen to Rush if there is a person being interviewed that I want to hear. I do the same with Sean Hannity. I don't listen to talk radio, but will catch important segments I am aware are coming up, or past segments posted, as I did here. And by not listening, you are not hearing what Ted Cruz is really saying. You don't have to support Rush to listen to a segment with Ted Cruz.
I am reading his words, listening to his words, not getting my information from the media. However, I will post links that confirm what I have read or heard him say..
You shouldn't argue with me if you don't want to listen to what Ted Cruz is saying.

Just a reminder, when Ted Cruz beat David Dewhurst, the polls were off by 19 points. Polls are only out there to drive the thinking process. They are less accurate than they have ever been.
Right, not like Hitler. I haven't heard Cruz saying he would annihilate the Jews.

Re: Sen. Ted Cruz Makes It Official
Today, the Drudge Report has REMOVED any reference to Ted Cruz's floor speech. It was up yesterday and today it's been removed. How interesting. Cruz must have really hit a nerve.

Oh on the contraire, I have been eagerly following and listening intently to Ted "Mr Smith goes to Washington" Cruz. Again, I must say that while I listen I am not in LOVE, with him, therefore I view this play without the use of rose colored spectacles. Personally I believe we should of stormed the Bastille decades agos, instead of having to watch Kabuki theatre politics within a two party ballet. Yet, I do believe the kingdom of God would be better served if we started to bull horn some of these guys and tell them we are tried of their performances. I know, I know, Mr Cruz is telling it like it is, and he doesn't care what they think he is a "firebrand" and McCain was a "Maverick"? Honestly I just want to spew steaming hot vomit when I hear goof ball titles for these smooth hand, "do they even lift" politicians. When Sarah Palin appeared on the scene I thought they searched far and wide to find an imbecile of epic proportions, but why? Why try to win a campaign armed with an idiot? So, when Senator Cruz stands behind the podium beating his little tin drum with a long sad look of piety, I tend to be skeptical.
Sister, I'm willing to review the information, but sometimes I listen to Mr Cruz I hear spiel being doled out with a little soft shoe. So, please forgive me if I doubt the sinless one you have already placed in the White House.

Okay, so you have made this case before. Are you going to interject the same thoughts ad nauseam until Nov. 2016? Are you bored and can't find anything else to do?
