Maybe a bit surreal?
It will be interesting to see this all play out.

I am taking it the wrong way. This isn't Kabuki Theatre!
Someone is finally, in the most intelligent and articulate way - calling out the GOP Establishment on their shady dealing - Corporatism and Crony Capitalism. That is why Ted Cruz calls them the Washington Cartel.
It's part of the process. He is a gentleman and is not acting like he is about to bust a vein like I have seen John McCain do.
Don't call it theatre. We NEED this to happen on the Senate floor. Anyway, why shouldn't Ted Cruz call out McConnell for lying to him and the other Republicans?

I mean why all the drama? It just looks so dramatic it was slicker than snot. I asked the majority leader and he said it three times like Saint Peter?
Sister, please don't get offended, root hip hip hooray for the man, support him, but don't hand over your brain to him. Always keep questioning, the "what ifs," the "how comes," or the "what are they really saying here," and "why are they saying it to me?" One must always keep in the back of their minds what Sen Cruz commenting on Harry Reid's comments concerning the Health Care Act saying that "Obamacare amendment is a cynical amendment" Sen. Cruz says it is empty showmanship, we will have a vote appealing Obamacare, the republicans will all vote yes, the democrats will all vote no, it will be a 60 vote threshold, it will fail, it will be an exercise in meaningless political THEATRE. Who said that? Wasn't Old EB it was your boy Senator Ted "git'er done" Cruz. We always have to remember that these guys (except Ted, because he looks like he is on a suicide mission) these guys are corrupt criminals. He called out the majority leader for lying about a corrupt deal, but is anyone going to jail? That's where the rubber meets the road. CALLING PEOPLE LAIRS is one thing, making sure they are charged, prosecuted and sent to jail is another story.
I'm not trying to offended anyone on this, just asking that everyone listen closely and keep your eyes open because it is not all what it seems.

No one on this forum, including me, David or Deacon Blues for that matter, are giving or handing over our brains to anyone. Being passionately involved doesn't mean we are 100% trusting of any candidate we support. Don't mistake my ardent support of Ted Cruz as a blind following. You can't be more mistaken.
And what is wrong with his statement? Do you realize what he is really doing here? Making those politicians accountable to their constituents back home to their lies. That is what he is doing. Because, at the end of the day, he has kept his campaign promises every step of the way and Texas knows it.
Now all these other people are standing like deer in the headlights. Good on Ted Cruz!
And there isn't any precedent to put them in jail for lying. They can be voted out, but not put in jail.
And BTW, he is explaining all of this on the Rush Limbaugh show today:

It would be awesome if politicians could be put in jail for lying. But, then again, are there enough jail cells to hold all the lying politicians?
Cruz was spot on and I applaud his calling out of the less than honorable Senator from Kentucky.
My only concern is that Cruz is too trusting. Too quick to trust. Sad, but true.
He trusts the admin with TPA, which is probably a mistake, based on history. And he trusted the Senator from KY was telling the truth about no deal, when, again, history shows both McConnell and Boehner to be dishonest when it comes to getting their legislation passed.

Not saying your candidate is Adolf, nor do I believe he really stands a snowballs chance. I'd love to dream, but dreaming never got me anywhere, and I usually was let down. So, please don't get so upset when I point these things out.

Nothing is wrong with it, but the senator pointed out that it is all political theatre, blowing smoke up our tail pipes. Yet, all of a sudden he is the arch angel Gabriel, and decides to call the liars out? You mean they never lied before? Come on, something is going on in the kitchen and seemingly they are the only ones who knows what's cooking.

Showing the people that he is here to be our protector, he will fight for us by any means necessary. He is even going to throw his own under the bus to keep America free. I can just hear the roar of the maddening crowd singing "The Horst Wessel Song".

Being president of the United States isn't the same as being a senator of Texas. Texas Governor GeeDub found that out.

Sister deer in headlights? More like Grizzer bear with head in tent door. Corruption in D.C didn't start last year, it has been a glowing business for decades. Politicians make huge money from lobbyists, and do favors that gain rewards either immediately or down the road. Senator Cruz wants us to think that he has never told a lie, never did a favor? OK, he chopped down a cherry tree and fessed up to who did it right away.

Oh, your right they can't go to jail for lying or we wouldn't have any senators in the senate. The Dem majority leader Harry Reid lied, and apologized so all was well. We moved forward, and it was business as usual. But what I would like to point out what the senator from Texas said concerning the lie is that it was used to (to use the senator's word) a CORRUPT DEAL? You will find this at the 4 to 4.8 minute mark on your offered video. Now, unless Ted Cruz loves to be overly dramatic "corrupt" means "corruption?" So, this has some grave implication that Senator Ted Cruz didn't only accuse the Republican majority leader of lying, but striking corrupt deals? So, is the corruption which the senator from Texas is exposing "criminal?"

Senator Ted Cruz is too trusting? Now wait a minute, this isn't his first rodeo. He was Solicitor General of Texas for six years, became a senator in 2013, and now we are to believe he had a V8 moment and found out that the United State Senate is rife with liars and corrupt politicians? I guess all we needed is Senator Ted Cruz to get up behind the podium and repeat, I can't believe he lied, I can't believe he lied, I can't believe he lied, I can't believe he lied.
How funny.

Re: Sen. Ted Cruz Makes It Official
Amazing. Amazing that anybody is left in this country who doesn't automatically assume EVERY politician is ALWAYS lying or deceiving as soon as their lips move.
Mr Cruz has a lot of people fooled.
Time will tell.

Re: Sen. Ted Cruz Makes It Official
That’s when calls for him to seek the Oval Office in 2016 started to take shape, and that’s when Sen. Ted Cruz became very concerned about a fact that he knew, but had never disclosed to the public, including during his Senate campaign a year earlier… Ted Cruz was born a Canadian citizen at birth, and remained a legal citizen of Canada, all the way up until May14, 2014.
