And these were really UCs long sleeve only , no tv , no video , no jewelery of any type not even wrist watches ,and no women preachers.

I have many UC friends who take juice for communion no big deal with me. I take wine they take juice with the exception I am right.

The scriptures say "fruit of the vine". I think grape juice should be used in respect for those dealing with alcohol issues.

These folks used a preacher one time from LA. whom you might know Elder Glenn Hensen He definitely was UC.

Sorry it does not say that what is does say is
THE fruit of the vine or THAT fruit of the vine DURING a Passover supper not in a grape vineyard that is the difference.

The prayer even today during the Passover as they bless the wine call it the 'fruit of the vine.' Yet NOT one Jewish person at the Passover supper would leave with the impression they were speaking of grapejuice.

THE and THAT makes it particular not general. It is speaking of the 'fruit of the vine' that is being discussion not an abstract statement.
