I just want to remind everybody the pastor did an excellent job preaching. It was quite deep and I personally got a lot out of his sermons. If someone can ever stop by and see you will not be disappointed. Yeah it was that good!!!

What it wasn't was somebody shouting "ACTS 2:38, YOU NEED TO BE BAPTIZED IN JEESUSS NNAAMME AND RECEEIVEE THE HHOLLYY GHHOSSTT"!!!

I was not displeased just pleasantly surprised. At one point I needed somebody to preach Acts 2:38. That was about twenty years ago. I need a church where I get some meat to. I have been back several times. And one thing that I forgot to mention is that when I walked in I felt the most loving spirit flow from the people. It truly felt peaceful. It did not feel confrontational or judgmental in any way.

Re: South County Christian Center

My family and I transferred to South Count Christian Center, now known as Crosspoint Church 9 months ago and we love it. We left our UPCI roots and it's been an amazing journey so far. Great church, great loving people, great ministerial staff, and all done for God's glory.

Don't forget that if you ever feel the need to have Acts 2:38 screamed at you (or standards) you can always watch a video or listen to any UPC General Conference service or any of a great number of UPC churches Sunday services online.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Re: South County Christian Center

I like being Pentecostal Apostolic...

I like folks speaking in tongues.

I like folks running the aisles. dancing in the spirit, crying and praying, praising with a joyful noise.

I like good give it all you got Pentecostal preaching, kickin' Pentecostal music, etc

I like folks being baptized in Jesus Name, being filled with the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues..

I like seeing sinner changed, watching the ladies hair grow, and the mens cut off, the ladies start dressing like ladies, and the jewelry, and makeup and all the adornments, slip away as they become adorned with Righteousness.

I know some of you dont like that...

And honestly...I dont give a rip...

I am Pentecostal and I am not ashamed of it.

Re: South County Christian Center

Maybe everybody would be happy if I just went to the bar. So everybody could judge me and ever... of wait that is happening now. Now I remember why I stopped going to a UPCI church.

As long as you are a disciple for life who has found a good church home of course I am happy for you!

I respect your sentiment and agree with some of it. I also like folks being baptized in Jesus Name and baptized in the Holy Splirt with the evidence of speaking in tongues as one of the signs.

The screaming, jerking, whirling, helicopter twirling , etc are not biblical so I do not like them. They are simply cultural.
