Journey to the Center of the Earth
For those of you who go to movies without feeling convicted about it, I have a word of advice for you.
If you get a chance to see Journey to the Center of the Earth and you have a choice between seeing it in 3D or just regular, definately choose 3D!
In our area, it is showing in 3-D at one theater and regular at all of the others. The 3-D one was broken today when we went to see it, so we had to watch it regular. I can guarantee you that in 3-D it would be AWESOME!!!

Re: Journey to the Center of the Earth
I still need to see Cloverfield, Iron Man, The Hulk, and even Transformers. I haven't been to any movies for over a year and we have rarely been renting them.
(I just watched Resident Evil: Extinction, and Death Proof -part 2 of the Grindhouse two parter, on our DVR, and that has been IT for a long time.)

Re: Journey to the Center of the Earth
RW,
Take seasickness pills before watching Cloverfield. All shaky handheld camera work. Drove me nuts but I had braced myself for it as I had read about it. Worth watching on DVD not worth paying to see at the movies.
I thought Transformers was excellent and you should have seen it on a big screen to appreciate it. Some of the actions scenes were repetititve and dragged on and on in my opinon but overall very good.
I hated the first Hulk film but here this one is much better. I will wait and watch on DVD on my big screen
I did want to see Iron Man in the threater but missed it and I either want to see Get Smart in the theater or when it comes out on DVd.
My most anticipated movie of this year is Quantam of Solace. Love that James Bond and Daneil Craig is the best Bond ever.
Next years most anticpated movie for me is Star Trek from JJ Abrams. A relaunching of the original characters with new young actors and a $150 million dollar budget.

I am looking forward to this as well. Hopefully they will bring a little realism back to the series.
Also, the Wolverine movie is due next May as well.

Thought Cloverfield was really good. I didn't mind the shaky-cam as it seemed to subside after the initial point of it was made.
Iron Man was awesome. Lots of fun, and worth repeat viewings.
The Incredible Hulk was also really good - particularly if you like Edward Norton. Much better looking Hulk than the last one.
Transformers I hated. Effects were great, but mechanical effects don't impress me that much (versus organic) - as they are much easier these days. And the writing and story were silly IMO.
The Dark Knight - amazing. There will never be another joker after Heath Ledger. He was the joker.

Re: Journey to the Center of the Earth
Did the Dark Knight end with the promise of a sequel? (We KNOW there will be, but not the story.)
I have heard that the new Hulk does.....
