South County Christian Center
I've been around this forum a while, as well as NFCF and the old FCF, so I'm not exactly a newbie, but I only read sparingly and post even less. But I know that there's a pretty diverse group of people here who know even more people, a lot more than I do.
So I was wondering--is anyone familiar with South County Christian Center in St. Louis? My wife and I visited this church a few weeks ago and really enjoyed the service--I know the pastor is Sean Craig, I've read the statement of faith on their website Statement of faith, but I was wondering if anyone had any additional information, knew anything about the church, etc. It seems from what little I know that the church is Oneness, baptizes in Jesus name, but has a PCI type view of salvation (saved at repentance but believers will go on to baptism in Jesus name and Spirit infilling). The service, as I said, was enjoyable--The music was top notch, the worship, while not quite as demonstrative as the average UPC church, was sincere, heartfelt, and expressive, and Sean Craig preached a great message about simplifying your life and focusing on your relationship with God.
I was just curious if anyone had any knowledge of the church, if my understanding of it's basic doctrine is correct, etc.

Well, Craig is a member of Phillips, Craig and Dean and most likely is doing a very contemporary, relevant Model for church ministry. Other than that I am not sure. If you looking for Old Time Pentecost, most likely WSIWYG. So don't go there thinking that it will be something else.

I was more curious if anyone knew Sean Craig and his beliefs, or had attended the church and knew their doctrinal stances. My own knowledge is pretty basic: I know that he's part of PCD, and I know that Randy Phillips and Dan Dean both have Oneness roots, but wasn't sure what Sean Craig's background is. Like I said, judging by the information gleaned from the website as well as some basic doctrinal information I saw on a church bulletin, it looked as though the church was Oneness, baptized in Jesus name, etc.
what does WSIWYG mean?

Re: South County Christian Center
I know that SCCC used to be Pastored by Roy Gerald, his son Kevin Pastors in Seattle are. Roy's son-in-law is Steve Munsey. Roy Resigned the church after his wife passed on. He turned the church to Shawn. They started oneness and Roy stated once, in a new article I read that the main core values and beliefs of his church were still the same. So I am guessing that Shawn Craig is still going with that. He used to be the music pastor there for quite a long time. I also think that this is the church Kurt Warner of the Arizona Cardinals came to the Lord in.

Oh that quote reminds me of San Fransisco....a church there has those letters in the background...something about a network...

Re: South County Christian Center
Roy Gerald was the former pastor and is a graduate of Apostolic Bilble College I believe.
I'd love to visit there sometime when I visit my kid in St Louis, but she attends a UPC in Bridgton, so we tend to go there when we are in town.

Re: South County Christian Center
Shawn Craig is a cousin to my SIL and definitely has UPC background. I would guess that his church is very similar to ours. (Don't let that scare you!)

When I live in the St. Louis area in the 80's, we heard little of SCCC.
From what little I saw of S. Craig back than and of the church in general, I am sure they had gone pretty liberal by UPC standards. Roy Gerald was a long standing minister of the MO district. S. Craig was raised in that church from some of his Bio I recall.
