Re: Sen. Ted Cruz Makes It Official

and yet it goes to the heart of the matter of Entitlement. I would grant that not introducing a bill--as a freshman--might fall under the 'pick your battles' banner; but accepting those benefits = hypocrisy, and there is no other truthful way to frame it.

Pretty audacious claim for someone who admits not even knowing the guy.
shall i go dig up the relevant passage from the Connie? Because we all spent like, what, 15 minutes on it in high school, right? It is very plain. They are all whores, who partake. If any of them, Cruz included, wish to avail themselves of the huge popular support that they would receive for bucking the system, even once they have become established (there's a word for ya) enough to do so, then i will offer my sincere apologies...but I'm confident that no apology will be forthcoming, at least for anyone in either of the "parties."

There's a reason I long ago put Shaz on ignore. It's not just because I disagree with him, it's because he's a complete loon in many cases.

Re: Sen. Ted Cruz Makes It Official

hey, whatever makes you feel better. Americans have a now time-honored tradition of ignoring and avoiding information. I have conceded that Cruz is--or was--most likely a principled man; with zero chance of changing the system from within, imo. FDR himself stated that presidents are selected, not elected. But by all means, vote harder, if that is what you think is best. But you might recognize the need to call me "loon," or some other dismissive term--rather than actually address any points--for what it is.

ODDS: Down to 40:1

Cruz appears to be a bad bet - LOL. Good riddance after he gets nailed in the first few states in the primary.

Re: Sen. Ted Cruz Makes It Official

Quote:
I’m a libertarian, and I’m supporting Ted Cruz

The government shutdown and the closure of the national monuments in DC by the Obama administration was the final straw for me, and I decided to get engaged in the fight. On a weekend that I will never forget, a handful of brave Iowans – including a beautiful liberty activist who would later become my wife – accompanied me to Washington DC to take part in the Free DC Project, where we stormed the barricades of the Lincoln Memorial and experienced true liberty in a moment that I can only describe as life-changing.

From that time forward, the courage of Ted Cruz became increasingly evident as he faced off, time and time again, against the leadership of both parties on behalf of the American people. His record in the Senate grew more impressive, as he stood against Obama’s push to war in Syria, battled the IRS, pushed Audit the Fed forward, and carved out a name for himself as a defender of internet freedom by opposing Net Neutrality. Best of all, he showcased a responsiveness to the American people that became evident to me from the first time I saw him here in Iowa.

Often accused of being a hard-headed grandstander for his contentious style in the Senate, Cruz’s real-life persona simply could not be further from it. During my time as an Iowa GOP official, we invited Ted to speak at our Reagan Dinner shortly after the shutdown. Having lived in Iowa my entire adult life, I was familiar with being around high-profile national politicians, and was familiar with the fanfare and press crush that followed them as well. After the Dinner, I was tasked with making sure that Sen. Cruz could escape the crowd, and escorting him to a small antechamber in which the press awaited him. Both were much more difficult tasks than I imagined. Ted gave personal attention to each and every person who pressed forward to talk to him, making dignitaries and state officials wait until the grandmotherly lady before him had finished patting his hand and telling him how thankful she was for his stand in Washington. I kept reminding his staff that the press was now waiting for him, but Ted didn’t want to go. I was looking at a man who thrived on the encouragement of the grassroots. This is where he gathered the courage to stand against Reid, McConnell, and the rest.

The whole article is very detailed and a great read!

Re: Sen. Ted Cruz Makes It Official

Ted Cruz interviewed on the Adam Carolla Show. He doesn't like labels, but calls himself "Mostly Libertarian".

And, WOW, Carolla says, "TedCruz.org is where you go if you want to support Ted. I want to support Ted. I love me some Ted Cruz.”

hahahahahahahahaha...........

TedCruzForAmerica.com domain got picked up and is a direct link to healthcare.gov

TedCruz.com domain got picked up and is a link to a page that says Support President Obama! Immigration Reform Now!

hahahahahahahahahaha..................He's already becoming an internet joke

http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2015/0...ly-2016-polls/

Good news - in early polling, he is one point behind some dude named Ben Carson. Uhhhhh......who has heard of Ben Carson? Cruz is otherwise doing great though. He is only behind Rubio, Walker, Huckabee, Bush, Paul, Perry, Carson, and tied with Santorum. He's got a slight lead (Holy Cow!) on Jindal though. It must have been hard to edge a governor who runs the state with BOTH the highest murder AND the highest incarceration rate in the country (which means highest incarceration rate on the whole planet).
Higher than the most hardline commie fascist countries on earth.

Wats up with the louisiana murder rate? Isnt prison and death penalty a deterrent? Thats what the conservatives say. More guns and more prison space is the answer. Louisiana is offered as the finest example of a test case for both. So whats up?

Re: Sen. Ted Cruz Makes It Official

Cruz wins straw polls in Greenville, Spartanburg

Conservative firebrand Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas proved his popularity with base activists in two of South Carolina's biggest Republican counties Saturday, winning straw polls for president at the Greenville and Spartanburg GOP conventions.

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker placed second at both forums.

Straw polls are not scientifically sound measures of public opinion, but they do provide insight into which candidates are popular with the most-dedicated activists.
