I did not insult you. I said nothing about your person, brother. I just remarked you went after me with an unreasonably myriad of questions and would not let up. No, "hey, good to see you here." Just a barrage of questions. It was silly, i think, for you to do that. It was like you were trying to ensure everyone on that forum would be convinced I was bad, and you did all you could to accomplish that. You did not insult. And neither did I insult you here. Insulting is attacking one's person.

And it was written by myself on Thursday, before we cleared it up Saturday over there. This is the first time I have been on either forum since then.

That being said, I think we dealt with it AFTER on Saturday, and like you said, calmed things down. Notice the date in which I made the post here. It was before you and I dealt with one another. So why go back to what happened before we discussesd this and bring that up again?

For the record, Bro Epley, my intent was not to look like a martyr. I was genuinely laughing about it in my post. That was the intention. The Amf is so over-infatuated with outward issues, that acts 2:38, oneness and new birth mean nothing if one drops standards. They are a heretic, apostate, deceived and going straight to hell over simply losing standards -- all words used there to describe me in the last few days.

What i said here is like sugar on ice cream compared to the vicious posts a few of the guys there hurled at me. You never insulted me, bro Epley, and neither Did bro. B.

And I was asked about my views on standards had never brought them up to begin with. Bro B asked me. He knew what I believed. He just wanted to make it loud and clear to everyone else on the forum there. I mean, he repeated questions a dozen and more times, for the sole and obvious purpose of broadcasting to all readers there. Ad then I get blasted for speaking against standards there. Lol

Bro B, if you think I was out of line saying what I did here, I apologize. Again, we cleared that up over there and continued in pm. But to come here and rehash what we already cleared up with things said before we cleared it up is not right either. What you quoted here was before we cleared it up. You should have simply said you felt I should retract a statement made Before we cleared it up, and not just come in here and take what I said before we settled it and imply I was dishonest to clear it up with you with this being here. Again, did I make it clear my quote was made before we cleared it up? I made that statement Thursday before we cleared it up on Saturday. check the date. If you did not want anyone remarking about the badgering of a myriad of questions, why did you do it? You were unreasonable. You did not apologize for that either, first or last. Again, we cleared that up, though. Dealing with it here by way of retraction since we cleared it up is another story.

So folks please know bro b and I cleared this up.

I've had people who have never posted on AFF contact me privately thanking me for some of my posts here. I can only guess that they represent some sort of "tip of the iceberg" - not just about my posts, but people who simply lurk in general.

It's interesting that that this thread was started a few years ago by a someone who no longer posts on AFF because he feels that this forum is "being used" to dissuade people from following the "holiness standards" of the UPC and other orgs. He seems to have been made something of a career choice in this matter.

Of course, reading the Bible itself will dissuade people from following these man-made doctrines as well. It's just that the UPC and most OPs drill their people to "quote mine" from the Scripture and and to "proof text" with one or two verses at a time, never really reading the books of the Bible to understand their overall theme and context. Portions of Acts 2 and Acts 10 are quoted a lot, but the context is ignored (Acts 2:21, for example and the fact that the Gentiles in Acts 10 were "sealed" into the Body of Christ (SAVED!) BEFORE they were water baptized (2 Corinthians 1:21; Ephesians 1:13 together with Acts 10:43-45).

... not to mention the fact that Acts 15:11-20, is completely ignored.

Reading Acts 10 in its context quite emphatically tells us that the Gentiles of Cornelius' household had "the remission of sins" BEFORE they were water baptized. That's anathema to the "Three Steppers;" yet it's pretty plain from the Word of God.

I think a lot of folks stumble on this forum seeking a place to find some resonance for the things that they themselves are reading in their own Bibles. Steve Epley's and E.B.'s views will probably always be with us to varying degrees - not just on AFF, but among Christians long after AFF is gone and other forums and means of communication have sprung up to take its place. That may be regrettable, but such hindrances to the Gospel of Jesus Christ have always been there and will be there until they are consumed with fire and burned away like so much wood, hay and stubble.

In that day we will rejoice, for our brothers will be saved, even so as by fire, and their troublesome works will be revealed for just what they have always been (1 Corinthians 3:15-21).
