Correct. The young man (28 I think) that actually did all the design for the two sites you mentioned and most of ours actually died suddenly when our site was 90% complete. It was unexpected and unexplained. I do know that it was a terrible shock to the design company but they have continued on!

Thanks for the compliment, BTW

I hate to violate that personal conviction.

I don't think ANY service at CC would approximate most old time Pentecostal services though as St. Matthew can attest from his visit this past Sunday we are not "dead". We do raise our hands a lot and you do hear praying out loud and hearty "amens" and "hallelujahs". Just not anything like most UPC churches where many times it seems a competition for who can be the loudest and most boistrous.

Also keep in mind that many of our young ministers do not have a UPC background so they are not from that screaming, emotional culture.

Even those raised in CC are so young they don't know CC from the UPC days.

I do know that more emotional / boistrous ministries like Eddie Cupples and John Ragsdale have preached Sunday night services over the years and I have to assume they were more lively than usual.
Kinda like a baptist church w/ a little bit of hype.

I have described it as extremely excited and wild Baptists or what most OTP's would consider dead Pentecostal.

I love it because there is freedom of worship where I can lift my hands, shout halleluah, etc but there is not emotional hysteria going on.

I have been in every kind of Pentecostal service known to man except for snake handling and the only reason that has not happened is because Elder Epley won't take me up on my challenge to find us one to go to together and the older I get the more I appreciate a quiet confidence, calm, and full feeling of God's Spirit vs. any kind of shockamoo.

you know, I was just wondering, If a church that is still having a decent crowd on sunday nights cuts this service out, wouldn't that hurt that finances of the church ??

Not if they cut the MM and pastor's salary for not having to minister on Sunday nights!

I don't know, Thad. The folks I have talked to that only have one service on Sunday find that the folks just give on Sunday morning everything that is usually split between AM and PM services.

We haven't had a sunday night service in a year! It is the best thing! We do however have 2 sunday morning services, 9 & 11:30. Sunday Night is Family time. We are also in the North East so the culture here is to go to a 1 hour mass on Sat evening or Sunday morning. We have grown unbelivable! God is blessing us. We had 341 on Easter Sunday. We continually run approx 250 to 275.

And no Thad the finances of the Church are still coming in on Sunday or Tuesday Night Bible Study.
