What I find interesting is that the Bible does not describe baptism as "works", but people want to come on here and insist that getting baptized falls under the category of "works."

Wouldn't repentance be just as much a work as baptism?? The fact is, the "grace only" crowd is left having to believe that one simply accepts Christ as their savior, and that there is no repentance needed for salvation.

I suppose one who believes baptism is a work would also need to believe repentance is a work to be consistent. It can be taken one step further to include believing as a work as well. However, I don't see where the Bible refers to believing, repenting, or baptism as "works."

1Peter 3:21 in the same:

In Mark 16:16, why did Jesus not say that he who does not believe nor is baptized is condemned, only he that does not believe. And 1Peter 3:21 says that baptism is for our salvation from inward questionings. Using these scriptures to enforce baptism as salvational is simply in error.

StMatthew, you are misrepresenting what we believe. We believe a soul see their sins, and their need for salvation, not just to get baptized and name on the church membership roster. Fact is, true conversion comes about only through repentance and faith in Christ, not in baptismal waters and not in a preacher.

But Brother Price, faith without works is dead, being alone.

Obedience is the evidence of faith.
