Sons of Sylvia may have that aim in mind--I don't think KoL are anywhere close to "sharing their faith." Maybe sharing a lack thereof....
I admire their musical talent, but we won't be buying KoL CDs.

As far as sharing their faith, or maybe I should say, living their faith, I was speaking of the Clarks, not the Leon Boys.

I seriously doubt this is a more effective way of sharing the Gospel......

If they record Christian music and sing it to Christians, who are they reaching except for Christians who are already saved?
Switchfoot is a great example of this. They are able to share their faith in Christ in areas that Christians never get into. I think it's totally the way to go and I believe it's very effective.

I had never heard of them but I certainly recognized them. The group is Ashley, Austin, and Adam Clark formerly of the Clark Family Band and The Clark Family Experience.
They have a Oneness Pentecostal background with their father being a preacher I believe.
It was interesting tonight that their new sound is not country but some kind of uh....ah....I don't know. I guess pop.
They are an incredibly talented family. Many more brothers than these three and I believe all play various instruments quite well. Back around 2000 I went to the taping of a TV special in Nashville that they were guest stars on with more brothers as "The Clark Family Experience". They had toured with Tim McGaw and gotten a record deal with Mike Curb. Sadly it did not go anywhere and they ended up declaring bankruptcy to get out of their record contract.
I saw them a couple of times visiting Christ Church. At the time my daughter was single but not there and I was hoping she could have met them. Good looking brothers!!

Yeah they are very talented. Im glad they are expanding their music beyond bluegrass. Not to keen on the name for the band though

Do you think this depends on one's understanding of what it takes to get saved? From a 3-step view, I would think the above would obscure the point since there's no way to get to a classic Act 2:38 experience from listening to secular music.

And thank you for being willing to consider! Most aren't. I'll admit to not being much of a fan of the Christian music industry (lots of reasons), although I love Hillsong, Passion, Matt Papa, and the rock-worship oriented stuff.
A couple years ago I was at a service at Mosaic in LA and they did an incredible song that brought an incredible presence into the place. The words were, "I need you now, I need you more than ever before." It was hallowed.
I went home and looked it up. It's actually a non-Christian song called "Dance on our graves" by an alternative rock group called "Paper Route."
That church is filled with young non-Christian people seeking spiritual fulfillment. They were able to sing that song that many unchurched young people would be able to relate to, and use it in a spiritual way.

Well, I'm not a three-stepper for sure, but even if.....the longest journey begins with a single step, right? So I suppose if you were wanting to get someone to a destination (the three steps), inspiring them to take the simple step of faith toward God would be a positive thing and something you may not have inspired them to do otherwise, no?
