The figure also does not put away filth from the flesh ... or wash sin (figuratively) according to the Preacher at Pentecost.
That preacher already said what effectuates the blotting or washing and when it happens .... at repentance:
19Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,

You still have to be baptized, Danny. No matter how many paragraphs you type, you have to be baptized to be saved. And it still says that the act "doth also now save us". Faith and believing are accompanied by obedience.
