Very Humbling Experience Tonite

To the shock of my wife and myself after song service tonight a young minister said he had something to say. So I let him up he is a very dependable young man. He said the church was going to have an appreciation service tonite for my wife and myself. They had a meal fixed down stairs to honor our anniversary that will be the 4th but we are leaving tomorrow and won't be back until after the 4th. The saints so graciously testified for over 2 hours saying such nice things about us. We both just wept and wept. I was so humbled and shocked we did not have any idea they were planning this. You hope you make a difference and hope you are a blessing but this was so humbling. I don't handle compliments very well never did. But the Lord has placed such a wonderful group of saints under me I do not want to let them down. All the men came and hugged me and told me how much they appreciated me and the ladies did the same to my wife. It is good to be loved.

Philippians 4:8

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Bro Epley,
I can say without wavering. You are a great man and Godly man. I respect your service and committment to the Lord.

The respect showed to you and your wife is a great thing...

Sincerely,

Nathan Eckstadt

1 Tim 5:17 (KJV) Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.

Elder,
That is great!! How wonderful to be so appreciated and so loved by those folks placed in your care!
I think very highly of you as a shepherd and servant of God and of your knowledge of the Word and of Pentecostal history (just don't agree with you on some things).
By the way, I read your article in the June-August issue of the Apostolic Standard.
