It was encouraging to see Cruz win especially in Maine, even after the Governor endorsed Trump.
I was disappointed he didn't win Kentucky.
The good news is the momentum has shifted to Cruz. Hopefully this will continue.
Too bad he didn't get 50%+ in TX. Having the full delegates from there would have been a huge boost.
We'll see if the pundits are correct in that Cruz will not win the northern states. I hope not.

I blame Carson for Ted not getting to the 50% mark. He stayed in as a spoiler. I have no respect for Carson. He can talk quietly and pretend he is an honest man, but he is not. He knew his campaign was over before Iowa began and wanted to blame someone, so he blamed Cruz. That was apparent when he refused to do anything about his own staffer who leaked he was leaving the campaign to go to Florida and wouldn't go to NH. But Carson wanted Cruz to do something about his staffer who tweeted that they needed to get Carson's vote that night. That is good strategy for any campaign.
He won Maine. That is pretty far north, and no one expected it. The Governor had endorsed Trump. Rubio's endorsements did nothing for him. Ted Cruz was endorsed heavily in Texas and won big. My county voted for him by 52%.

What's up in Louisiana!? They called that for Trump awfully early. IIRC, with only 6% in they were already calling it for Trump. Now, with 91% in, it's a statistical dead heat, with Cruz hot on Trump's heels, 41.4% - 37.8%.
Best part is Cruz is getting the same number of delegates as Trump - 18 each.
But really, someone messed that up and called it wayyyy too early.

They were calling it by the absentee votes, but then the election day votes changed the story showing an attitude change probably due to the last debate when the big orange had his worst debate ever.
We will see how this plays out, but Super Saturday showed that people started coalescing behind Cruz.
The final totals this weekend were:
35.6% Trump
35.3% Cruz
17.0% Rubio
9.5% Kaisch
There is a total of 1,571 GOP delegates still outstanding. Only 344 of those delegates (22%) are in true winner-take-all states. 8 states being winner take all - 14% of delegates.
There are 1,459 bound delegates up for grabs. To hit 1,237, Trump needs 58% of them, Cruz needs 64%, Rubio needs 74%, and Kasich needs 82%.
There will be four more GOP contests on March 8, with a total of 150 delegates at stake: HI (19), ID (32), MI (59), and MS (40).
Here's the breakdown of the rules of those contests:
HI: Caucus, closed
ID: Primary, closed
MI: Primary, closed
MS: Primary, open
Ted Cruz does very well when Republicans vote - closed Caucus or Primary. In the Open Caucuses or Primaries, Trump does well because the Democrats are crossing over to vote for him. Many believe he will lose to Hillary. I do not like Open PRIMARIES!!

Re: Sen. Ted Cruz Makes It Official
And I did vote against Trump at the ballot box, for the record. Video embed...
Quote:
Cruz Explains the Problem with #NeverTrump
DICKERSON: Let me ask you about your political path. Is it to win the nomination and the delegates outright, or is it to just deny and get to Cleveland and figure it out there?
SEN. TED CRUZ (R-TX), PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE: Look, we’re campaigning to win.
And I will say any time you hear people talking about a brokered convention, I think that is the fevered talk of the Washington establishment. The Washington establishment is in a panic. They’re confused. They don’t understand what’s happening.
And their favored candidates, the ones that they want to win, are not getting the votes. But if a bunch of Washington deal-makers try to step in, in a brokered convention and steal the nomination, I think we will have a manifest uprising.
If you want to beat Donald Trump — and I don’t think Donald Trump is the right nominee to go up against Hillary Clinton. If you want to beat him, you got to beat him at the ballot box. And our campaign is the only campaign that has demonstrated we can do so over and over again.
DICKERSON: Do you think there is something illegitimate, though, about trying to have a brokered convention, work it out at the convention?
CRUZ: You know, I think, if it’s a bunch of Washington deal- makers and lobbyists who want to parachute in their preferred candidate because they don’t like what the voters are doing, I think that is illegitimate. I think it’s wrong.
DICKERSON: Ronald Reagan in 1976 used convention to try and beat Gerald Ford. So, there wasn’t anything inherently bad about that.
CRUZ: But there’s a difference there when that’s coming from the people, when it’s a battle of the people.
A lot of the folks pushing brokered convention in Washington don’t want it to be based on the people. They want to drop in their favorite candidate and then try to stifle the will of the people. I think that would be an enormous mistake.
DICKERSON: Have you had any conversations or has anybody approached you about any kind of an alliance to stop Trump?
CRUZ: Listen, I’m having the conversations with all sorts of people.
And what we’re seeing is, we’re seeing supporters from other candidates coming and joining us, whether they were with Jeb Bush, whether they were with Chris Christie, whether they were with Ben Carson, whether they have been with Marco Rubio or Rand Paul.
We’re seeing people come together because they are recognizing that their candidates were not in a position beat Donald. And if Donald is the nominee, it is a catastrophe. Hillary wins. We lose the Supreme Court for a generation. We lose the Bill of Rights. And we lose the Senate.
DICKERSON: And the last question is something that puzzles me, is that you talk about, he’s going to be a president you can’t even let your children watch TV. Marco Rubio says he’s a con man. All of these terrible things. And then, at the end, you’re asked if you’ll still support him, and you do. Doesn’t that undermine all of these criticisms that say he’s going to be such a danger to conservatives and Republican values?
CRUZ: At the outset of this campaign, I promised I would support the Republican nominee. And — and I am someone who keeps his word. You know, this past week, on Super Tuesday, in the state of Texas, we won an overwhelming victory. We won Texas by 17 points. And that was particularly meaningful because the people of Texas, they know me. They know my heart. They are the people that I made promises to. When I ran for Senate, I promised, you elect me, I’ll lead the fight against Obamacare, I’ll lead the fight against amnesty, I’ll lead the fight against our debt and I’ll lead the fight to protect religious liberty, the Second Amendment and the Bill of Rights. And the reason we won an overwhelming victory in Texas is because Texans said, Ted, you’ve kept your word. And I’ll tell you, John, as president I’ll do the very same thing.

Democrats voting for Trump in Ohio's open primary. Officials claim 1,000 or more have already cast early votes and calls are coming in every day from Dems switching to vote for Trump.
Something rotten here. I agree with Cruz, the media is sitting on something against Trump and they're just waiting for him to win the nomination so they can blast him 24/7 and give HRC the win in November.
All these Dems know Trump is a weak nominee and will lose against HRC.

Cruz came from behind to pass Kasich in second place in Michigan. That surprised me a little.

Re: Sen. Ted Cruz Makes It Official
I'd like to personally hand Rubio a t shirt that says "I support Trump for president". He obviously must

He says he will do ANYTHING to stop Trump. Well he hasn't and he won't. The GOPe would rather have Hillary than Ted Cruz.
It's apparent that Rubio and Kaisch are playing the spoilers in this election. Ted would have beat Trump in every state if they would drop out.
Getting into the delegates, Trump only picked up around 13 more than Cruz last night. Rubio received ZERO delegates last night.
Anyway, Carly Fiorina has endorsed Ted and is speaking with him in Florida today.
