(you won't believe it....but it is true........)
$5,200 a gal. (five thousand two hundred dollars)
So, the next time you're at the pump, be glad your car doesn't run on water, Scope, or Whiteout, Pepto Bismol, Nyquil or God forbid, Printer Ink!

Did a little digging on the price of gas and came out with this:
Gas cost about $1.60 in 2003
$1.40/gallon in 1996.
gallon of gas in 1989 was about 80 cents
in 1950 Cost of a gallon of Gas: 18 cents
I remember buying gas for 88˘ in '96 or '95 when I started driving. I could put $2 in my '78 Volkswagon Beetle and drive a couple of days on that. Now, if I put $2 in my car I could PROBABLY make it to the next gas station before it ran out.

Thanks Jermyn. Sure gives one something to think about. I get angry every time I buy ink for my printers. They are robbing us for sure. But, what can you do about it? Nothing!

Our family farmstead was not very small. We had an underground gas storage,. My father said they bought gasolene for 4 cents and sold it for 5 cents so neighbors didn't need to drive to town. Don't tell the EPA but we never dug out the underground tanks.
